EIC46 Winners!

I am so so so sorry this is so late! Parker had shots today and my whole day was just crazy! He did pretty well though.

Without further ado, the winner of the guitar pendant from Artistic Flair is Cathy! YAY Cathy! You can see Cathy's card HERE. And the winner of Love in the Air from Unity Stamp Co is Kimberly! You can see Kimberly's cards HERE.

Big thanks to Artistic Flair and Unity Stamp Co for sponsoring another great week of EtsyInspired!

HHH: Well Sort Of

So, CHA is over and the Unity crew is packing up to go home. That being the case, there will be no HHH post on the Unity blog today. That's why it's only "sort of" a HHH. :) I hope you guys have a safe trip home Unity crew!

This is a card I made for the Clean and Simple challenge this week on SCS. It was a sketch challenge. I used Unity's Folk Inspired kit. I added ribbon and the Cuttlebug folder is Swiss Dots. I really like how this turned out. I just colored the image first and pulled in the rest to match. I usually work the other way around so it was an experiment of sorts.

Don't forget about the AWESOME EtsyInspired event we have going on tomorrow! For each friend you refer to the challenge, you get one entry into a drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Paper Makeup! I wish I could win! I love PMS! Teehee, who ever thought you'd say that about PMS? ;)

Happy Friday friends!

Wanna Win a Big Shot?

Holy Moly! I just stumbled across a blog because the gal that runs it Priscilla, left a comment on one of my SCS cards. Well, she's giving away a BIG SHOT, a bag, and some textured dies for blog candy! OMGosh! What a fabulous prize! So, I HAD to tell you all about it! Go HERE to enter!

A Hybrid Card

Ok, so I don't really know what a hybrid card is. I'm kind of thinking this isn't really one. I just printed off the digi stamp wings, well after mirror imaging the wing on the right to get a matching set. I'm guessing any mix between traditional card making and digital card making is hybrid. At least, that's how I define it.

So, the wings on this card are from AiFactory's Hand Drawn Wings set. The set comes with 4 different wings. I created a butterfly by taking one wing and making a mirror image of it in Photoshop and then printing it out. I colored the image with markers. I made the background paper with Autumn Leaves Swirls clear set. Then I just finished off with some rhinestones.

If people have any interest, I can start posting tutorials on how to do things in Photoshop. Just leave me a comment and I will start doing those. I really only know basics but if it's something people are interested in, I can give it a try. :)

Happy Thursday friends!

My YSHLUA Challenge

A while back, Katy and Shannon were left alone and they decided to come up with the most evil challenge they could think of. I mean, it was REALLY mean! It included STICKERS! Gah! They called it the You Should Have Left Us Alone challenge. Now, we're on week 11 and it's my turn!

My challenge is:
Layers: Take the higher number in your age and subtract the lower number. That's how many layers you get to use. For example, I am 26.
I take 6-2=4. I get 4 layers. If your number comes out to zero, my gift to you is one layer.

NO RIBBON!

You must use at least two different things that sparkle ie Shimmerz, rhinestones, Smooch, glittery designer paper...

You may only use stamps that have a nature theme ie birds, animals, plants, etc...

Deadline: Aug 2

You can find the thread HERE. It's just for fun but I would love if you played along. For my card, I used Unity's Everyday Adorable. I colored with markers and then used Diamond Stickles on the flowers. The DP is from my stash and has no name on the back. :( And I finished with a few rhinestones. Try the challenge if you have time.

Happy Wednesday lovebugs!

Beep! Beep!

***Second post for today***

This post is in honor of Brady and his new found love for all things with wheels. He is SUCH a boy! He loves rolling in the mud, getting dirty, climbing, trucks, tools, etc... But his latest obsession is definitely trucks and cars. All I hear all day is "Beep! Beep!" as he drives cars and trucks around our house.

I have no idea what this image is, I got it in a swap. This card is a super quickie! I just colored the dump truck and matted it. Then I used some yellow card stock that has been Cuttlebug embossed with the Swiss Dots folder. Easy peasy! I actually made this for the Ways to Use challenge on SCS last week.

Happy Tuesday friends!

Waiting, Wishing ~ My First AiFactory Project

***Second post for today***

Wow, it's been a LONG time since I digi-scrapped. Actually, I used to make digital wedding albums as part of my job. I'm kind of out of practice though. As I get more practice, I'll get better. It's like playing tennis, when you first start up again, you're a little rusty but after a little while you're right back were you left off.

All the digital elements are from AiFactory. I used the Ornate Express Photoshop Brushes. The background was a freebie download I found on the AiFactory ning group. The font is Snell Roundhand and it was already in my Photoshop. Like I said, I'm a bit out of practice but I'll get better. Hope you like this anyhow!

Exciting News!!

I've been asked to design for AiFactory! The owner Mia' contacted me and asked me to design for her company. I am so excited! She offers digital stamps, clip art, digital paper, photoshop brushes and much more! I just got my first digis today and I'm SO excited to start playing with them! You'll see samples from me soon!

You can check out AiFactory on Etsy too. And if you want, there's a AiFactory Ning group where Mia offers tons of freebies and tutorials. Mia' also has a blog where she offers tutorials if you want to check that out as well.

I'm so excited! This is my FIRST company design team! I'm also super excited the Mia' picked me based on my blog and trusts me to help her. Eeek! Happy happy happy Monday everyone!

Little Limelight Challenge And My NEW Blog Layout!

So, what do you think of my new blog layout? Super duper cute, huh? The amazingly talented De did it for me! Isn't she a genius? I gave her barely any direction (pink, girlie, and crafty) and look at the PERFECTION she created! It's FABULOUS!

This is a card I made a couple of days ago for the Limelight Sketch challenge this week. The product focus is sentiments so I used this amazing sentiment which I love. The bike and sentiment are from Unity's Everyday Adorable kit. I just added dew drops and some dots to the scalloped border I made with scissors. The DP is from Target's $1 section. (I'm a budget conscious girl sometimes.)

Happy Sunday friends!

EtsyInspired Challenge #46 ~ Artistic Flair and a Unity Stamp Giveaway

This week's EtsyInspired shop is Artistic Flair. This shop specializes in one of a kind framed fused art glass pieces and glass jewelry. I really like how fun and unique the home decor pieces are! The glass gives a nice shine and adds dimension which is lacking in posters or paintings. I think these art pieces are a really cool alternative to the standard wall hanging. The glass catches light which gives life to the art and draws in the eye. I really like all the cityscapes that this shop has! What a wonderful way to pull in accents from different places! There are also glam girls, musical instruments, drinks, and much more.

This shop also has lots of interesting glass jewelry. My favorite is the dichroic glass. I love the way it shimmers, you know I'm all about the shimmer! There is also adorable custom photo necklaces, beautiful fused glass pendants and pins, super fun cuff links, and even a TWILIGHT inspired necklace for us Twihards.

This week, Artistic Flair is giving away one of these awesome fused glass guitar pendants. She will pick one especially for the winner. All you have to do to be entered to win is pick any item from the Artistic Flair shop and be inspired by it. You can make anything you'd like ie a card, layout, cake, song, dance, etc... Then post a link to your creation on this blog post by Friday July 31 at noon Pacific time and you will be entered in a random drawing to win.

We have SPECIAL SPONSOR this week too! Unity Stamp Co will be giving away one Love in the Air kit to a special winner. This is a super cute and versatile kit. I have it and I absolutely love it! This kit will also be given away to a random winner so don't forget to play! Now, go be EtsyInspired!!

This is my card for this week. I was inspired by the adorable These Boots Were Made For Walking... piece. This image is from Rubber Romance. I added some Black Diamond Stickles to her boots. The designer paper is from the $1 bin at Michael's. I finished with some rhinestones.

EIC45 Winner and SORRY SO LATE!

First off, here's a picture of Parker. He'll be SIX weeks tomorrow, can you believe it? Time is flying by. Speaking of him being six weeks, that's why I'm late posting today. He is going through a six week growth spurt and is eating NON STOP today! Oy! I'm exhausted!

Second, my friend Marti from Pez-A-Doodle made Parker this ADORABLE onesie! SO SO CUTE! She stamped it! Isn't that awesome? He has matching socks and a matching card too! And she threw in some goodies for me. Thanks Marti! You rock!!

Onto the winner, Brady was being uncooperative so Random.Dustin did the drawing for me. Katie Cotton! You're the winner! You can check out Katie's AMAZING card HERE. Katie, email me your address and I'll get that pincushion to you. And big thanks to The Daily Pincushion this week for the beautiful inspiration and the gorgeous prize!

HHH: Bee-lieve!

***DO YOU WANT A CHANCE TO WIN SOME UNITY?? Come back tomorrow and check out the EtsyInspired post! We have a special prize!!***

Super duper quick post since I really should be in bed at this moment. I'm currently trying to wean myself off napping so by 10pm, I'm pretty much a zombie. Hopefully, this post will make sense.

Here's a card I made for the SCS Sketch Challenge this week using Unity. The bee is from Unity's June 09 KOTM and the sentiments are from Unity's Everyday Adorable. The bees have Diamond Stickles on their wings and Black Diamond Stickles on the black stripe.

Happy Friday everyone!

Little Blue Birdie

I made a card for this past Inspiration Challenge on SCS. The challenge was to be inspired by Tracy Porter. I've never heard of this site before but it offers lots of inspiration, from clothes to home decor and all the stuff is gorgeous!

I picked Blue Bird of a Feather. Now, it just screamed at me to use Unity's Birds of a Feather kit. This is super easy peasy. I color the bird and matted it. Then added some ribbon. Have I mentioned that light blue and red is one of my fave color combos? It is! That's probably why I was so drawn to the inspiration piece.

Alright, we are in the midst of potty training Brady. Operation Undies is a success, but we are still having at least one accident a day which is to be expected, I guess. Parker is still eating ridiculous amounts. I'm busy, busy, busy. Off to Mommy and Me support group now.
Happy Thursday friends!

Happy Birthday Tiffaroo!

For some reason, I was under the impression that today is Thursday and Tiffany's birthday. I spent all last night trying to get the PERFECT birthday card made for Tiff. I redid this at least twice. But guess what? It's Wednesday and Tiff's birthday is tomorrow. Sigh...

I'm posting this card any how since I don't have anything else to share today. I had to pull out all the stops on this card because Tiffany is one of my best girls. A best girl calls for pulling out your best stuff so here's a little Basic Grey paper. This sketch is from 2 Sketches 4 You. The owl is from Unity's June 09 KOTM and the sentiment is from Unity's Birthday Chic. Then I just added some rhinestones from Michael's and a little coloring on the sentiment.

I hope you like your card Tiff! I wanted it chic and girly just like you. Happy birthday to my sweet friend/stamp twin! I'm so glad we're friends! Hugs!

Special Delivery

I took a few minutes last night to myself so that I could create a little. I actually had an image that I spent FOREVER coloring the other night that I wanted to use but I lost it. I'm telling you, I would lose my head if it weren't attached.

I threw together a really quick card for yesterday's Clean and Simple challenge on SCS. I voluntarily made a one layer card! Isn't that crazy? This card uses Unity's Love is in the Air kit. I just stamped it directly on the card base and colored it with my Bic Mark Its. I'm still getting used to the colors so this isn't exactly what I envisioned in my head but I still like it.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Thanks Joy!

I asked my friend Joy to send me some Artful Inkables images and she so sweetly sent me a bunch of fun stuff to play with. This image comes from Enchanted Fairies. Isn't it SOOO cute? I just love her sweet little face!

I made this card just to make a card. Isn't that crazy? It's not for a challenge or for a DT assignment. I was stamping just for the fun of stamping. What a thought! ;) I colored the image with my mish mash of Copic (which I have SIX whole makers), Bic Mark Its, and Marvy markers. I added some ribbon, dew drops, and of course Stickles. The DP is DCWV.

Sorry for the late post but I think this will become my normal posting time. Mornings are so crazy for us! Brady is now in bed, Dustin is holding the baby, and I FINALLY have a moment to breathe. Hope you all had a happy Monday!

Parker's Birth Announcement

Today is Parker's Open House. We've invited friends and family to drop by and meet him. I'm blogging at a lull between guests. We've been busy pretty much all day.

In honor of it being Parker's open house, I decided to show you Parker's birth announcement. :) These are pictures that my step sister took of Parker, Brady, and Dustin (I do NOT feel up to being in a photo shoot right now!) Aren't the pictures so cute??

Happy Sunday everyone!

EtsyInspired Challenge #45 ~ The Daily Pincushion

This week's EtsyInspired shop is The Daily Pincushion. I find this shop absolutely divine! I've been drooling over all the beautiful work in this shop all week! I'm so glad to be doing the post and bringing all this gorgeousness to your attention.

I didn't know all the beautiful things that could be done with felt before I found Etsy. I just thought it was for children's puppets and stuff like that. I never dreamed that you could make all sorts of pretty things like the pincushions in this shop! I love the texture that the felt offers, the lovely colors, and and how it looks when it's stitched.

Cathy is the owner of this shop and I have to say, she has an amazing eye for color. The color combos that she puts together are perfection! I'll be coming back to this shop any time I need a color combo. The flowers that she puts on her pincushions are beautiful and so detailed. This shop offers pincushions, mini pincushions, Emerys Sharps (to keep your needles sharp), gift tags, and a variety of felt if you'd like to give felting a try for yourself.

This week, The Daily Pincushion is offering up this awesome Pink Dogwood mini pincushion as a prize. This retails for $15. It's so cute! I wanna learn how to sew so I can have some of these pincushions! But I might just buy some for gift for people who can sew.

All you have to do to win is go to The Daily Pincushion shop. Take a look around and find inspiration in any of their gorgeous creations. You can make anything your little heart desires ie a card, layout, cake, drawing, song, etc... Post a picture to your blog or online gallery and leave a link right here on this post by next Friday July 24 by noon Pacific time to be entered in a random drawing to win. If you upload to SCS or PCP, please use keyword EIC45. Now, go be EtsyInspired! (I've missed saying that!)

Here is my card for this week. I was inspired by the beautiful flowers and amazing color combinations in this shop. I haven't done a Dahlia fold card in a long time and I had a toddler running around so it's not as tight as I would like. The designer paper is Stampin Up. I added some faux stitching to the edges.

Random.Babies and EIC44 Winner

So, I couldn't just show off one of my kids, now could I? This picture was taken on Monday, the day Parker turned one month old. I can't believe it's been a whole month! My little baby is getting SO big! But looking at him next to Brady, you wouldn't know that. What can I say? I make big babies.

Random.Brady picked the winner for this week. He was a little rusty. It took him a minute to remember how to draw names. He picked the lovely CATHY! You can see Cathy's adorable cupcake card HERE. Cathy, please email me your full name and email address and I will get your info over to Verbena Custom Blends so you can get that $15 gift certificate! A big thank you to Verbena Custom Blends for the yummy inspiration and the amazing prize this week!

HHH: Right Back in the Box!

So, that darn box has pulled me back in. Well, I'll admit that I already had the image colored so that was a deciding factor in what I was going to do with this card. However, I should say that it's not a permanent move back into the comfortable little stamping box.

This card was made using the Wednesday Sketch challenge on SCS. The image is from Unity's May KOTM. I colored it and then added Stickles to the centers of the flowers. The designer paper is Amy Butler, I love Amy Butler! And then of course, in true Ashley fashion, there's bling.

Happy Hip Hop Hangover Day everyone!

Whoa! Did I Make That?

Ok, so this card really isn't that much of a stretch for me. However, I looked at it as it was coming together and thought "I should distress this." My poor distressing tool rarely comes out. I think it might have gone into shock, doing two whole layers!

I got this image in a swap and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Someone on SCS told me it's called Stipple Hydrangea from Stampin Up. It's retired so I might have to poke around eBay and see if I can get it. It's really not a normal "me" image, I tend to go for more "cutesy" but I think it's really beautiful.

I colored this with every type of marker I have. LOL! I don't have many colors in each type so I just combine them. Did I mention that this is the color challenge from this week on SCS? We were to use Lavender Lace, Barely Banana, grey, white, and black. I added green because I couldn't color the stem and leaves grey. It might have actually killed me. I used Stickles on the center of the flowers and the CB folder is Stylized Flowers.

Happy Thursday friends! We are going to get Parker's first professional pictures done today. Wish me luck!

A Technique Challenge

I don't know what's gotten into me lately, but I'm doing all sorts of things (stamping wise) that I don't normally do. I guess I should just ride the wave being that it may stop any time now and I'll go back to my basic formula and Unity stamps. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But it's kind of cool to see that I'm capable of stepping outside my box.

This card was made using the Faux Grid Technique. It was the Monday technique challenge on SCS. It's pretty simple, you just draw lines on the paper so it looks like your image is on a grid. This image is Penny Black. I got it in an image swap so I don't know what it's called. I love these little hedgehogs! They are so cute! The yellow patterned paper is Bo Bunny. I embellished with some dew drops, a Prima flower, and a brad. Pretty simple.

Happy Wednesday everyone!!

EIC44 Reminder

Don't forget that there's still time to do this week's EtsyInspired challenge! The challenge deadline is not until Friday July 17 at noon Pacific time. This week's shop, Verbena's Custom Blends is full of yummy bath and body goodness and she's giving away a $15 store credit to the winner! You can't beat that! Just scroll down to the post from July 11 for all the details and info!

Also, the owner of this shop is currently on vacation. You can still play the challenge at your leisure by looking at her sold items, CLICK HERE to see them. They have 912 sales, so there's lots to choose from! Now go be EtsyInspired!

Yummy in my Tummy!

I'm currently trying to step out of my normal Unity "box" since I have so many different stamps and images to play with. I might slip every now and then though, I really do have a lot of Unity stamps. On the card I have to share with you today, I used Stampin Up.

This card was made for the Clean and Simple challenge to be inspired by all the WONDERFUL art at art.com. There is SO much inspiration on this site! Hopefully, I will have time to make a couple more cards for this challenge. For this card, I was inspired by THIS Cupcake Print. The image is from Stampin Up, Crazy for Cupcakes. The designer paper is DCVW. I used both Copic and Bic Mark Its to color the image and some Stickles on the flame. The CB folder is Spots and Dots.

Happy Tuesday everyone! Go have yourself a cupcake! :)

I'M BACK!!!

I'm done with my "maternity leave" and I'm back to crafting and blogging. Hopefully, I can still blog just as much as I did before I had the baby but we'll see. Some days are more challenging than others. :) We are managing though.

GUESS WHO I MET THIS WEEKEND?? Julie Ebersol! ACK! I was so darn excited! She was here from A Muse-a-palooza, teaching classes at the Paper Garden Boutique. I wasn't able to take a class since I'm still nursing on demand (and my child is QUITE demanding) but Julie said I could stop by for a quick hug. She is just as sweet and friendly as you would think, maybe even more so. Meeting her was such a treat! She's the first SCS/stamping person I've met in real life and for that to be Her Royal Rubberness was just UNREAL! Somebody pinch me!

Oh, and I made a card too. This is for yesterday's Featured Stamper challenge on SCS. You can see the lovely Kelly's card HERE. I changed the stamp set, the colors, the dimensions, and I left off the sponging and thread. This stamp set is Unity's Love in the Air. The paper is just generic Kraft, blue, and white card stock and some Target Dollar Spot DP. And the buttons are from a grab bag I got on Etsy.

Happy Monday friends!

Limelight Sketch and an Awesome CAUSE

I made this card for the sketch challenge going on right now on the Limelight Blog. The product challenge is to use buttons. I love me some buttons! The image here is from Pink Cat Studio. The designer paper is from Doodlebug Design Inc. And the Cuttlebug embossing folder is Floral Fantasy. I also used Diamond Stickles on the pink frame around Lily to give my card some sparkle, because pink and sparkly is the BEST! :)

Also, you HAVE to go over to THIS POST on the Cosmo Cricket blog. They are donating $1 for every comment they receive up to $1000 to a local food bank. So, go over, leave a comment, and spread the word!

Unity Guest Designer Challenge

Each month, Unity Stamp Co has a challenge to find a new KOTM guest designer. You just use your KOTM and apply it to whatever challenge is given by the lovely Jenn Buck. This month's challenge was a sketch. You can see the details on the contest HERE.

This is the first month that I've tried out. Mostly because it's only been going on for three months and I've been busy having a baby. ;) I decided I would give it a shot. There's a lot of talented people entering but there's no harm throwing my name into the hat.

For this card, I used Unity's May KOTM. I have no idea what the designer paper I used is. It's so hard to keep track when all you have left is scraps. But it's double sided paper. I used some Stickles on the center of the stamped flowers and the dragonfly. I added some Primas that I adorned with some rhinestones. Just a simple card.

Next, I used the sketch to make a layout. Now, I actually got carried away. This layout looked GREAT before I remembered that this is for Unity Stamp Co and I had to use stamps on it. So, I added stamping from the Unity May KOTM and I think it turned out a bit busy. I was going to try to do another layout but I'm not sure I'll have the time.

These pictures are from Brady's first birthday. Man, did he have a good time with that cake! He did what every parent hopes for, he made a GIANT mess! But that's one thing I adore about my sweet boy, he gets very excited on special occasions and it makes all the effort I put into the events very worth while.

Anyhow, I hope you enjoy your Tuesday!

Once you see this shop you are going to want to buy one of these whimsical pieces for your wedding or just so you can feel like a princess in everyday life! Here's a little peek at some of the beauty that can be found at whichgoose.

All you need to do is visit whichgoose and find a piece that inspires you and then create a project of your own based on that inspiration (easy, right?!). Then post your project on your blog, SCS, or PCP and leave a comment on this post with a link to your project by Friday, July 10th at noon PST for your chance to win this week's prize. If you have never participated in an Etsy Inspired Challenge before you can check out THIS POST for extra details. And we also have a group on PCP if you would like to come chat with us there.

Want to know what you're playing for? Of course you do! :) You all can thank Mandy from Limelight Papercrafts for offering up this week's fabulous prize!

The winner will receive:
1 package of Prima Light Blue Sprites flowers
1 package of Prima Butterflies (E Style) and

HHH: A Treat

I managed to make another card this week and thought that I would share it with you. This card was made for SCS's Clean and Simple challenge this week. The challenge was to use some sparkles on your card. That's easy enough for me!

This card uses Unity's June KOTM, Perfect in Every Way. The pink ice cream has Stickles all over it. I actually cut out the ice cream cone twice. Once for the base layer and once for just the ice cream. It has a lot of dimension in real life.

And now for another treat! I have a picture of the kids to share with you! I know that I'm super biased but my kids are just SOOOOO cute! Parker had his two week appointment yesterday, the boy weighs in at 10lbs 10.5oz! He's a GOOD eater!

Happy 4th of July weekend everyone!
