Hippity with Some All Things Unity

Oh my gosh! I feel like the little white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland! I'm always LATE LATE LATE for a very important date! It's not like me AT ALL. :(

Ok, so here's my tardy DT card for the All Things Unity challenge. The challenge is to be inspired by the colorful picture below. For this card, I also used the current sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping. The stamps are from Ippity's Fall for You. The paper is Cosmo Cricket's DeLovely and the ribbon is Bazzill. The circle and scalloped circle are Marvy punches.

Don't forget to stop by the Ippity blog to check out all of the participants for today's blog hop. Also, play along in our All Things Unity challenge, it's super fun! YAY! Have a happy Monday everyone and thank you to all our troops!

Late EIC90 Card and Limelight Challenge

I apologize for the late card. Parker being sick just sucked all the life out of me. His breathing gets sooooo much worse when he's sick. It's super sad. Though his virus seems to be improving, his breathing still sounds quite horrible. Hopefully, it will sound better soon but the doctor says there's really nothing we can do for him other than giving him the inhaler when he sounds really bad. It's a hard situation and I just wish there was some magical cure since it's so hard to have my baby's breathing sound so ragged and difficult. But enough about me.

FINALLY, here's my card for this week's EtsyInspired Challenge for the Sunshyne Silverwear shop. I also used the Limelight Papercrafts sketch and product challenge for this card. The product we are supposed to use is something soft or fluffy. I used flocked designer paper from DCWV for my soft element. The stamp is Ippity from Fall for You. The ribbon is from Michael's and the punch is Martha Stewart.

Hope you all had a great Sunday and have a great rest of your long weekend!

FWF ICE CREAM!! (ETA an Ippity Card Too!)

Happy Friday Friends! YAY! It's almost the weekend! I hope you all had a wonderful week!

Here's my card for this week. I made it for the CAS challenge over at SCS to make a summer card. What's more summer than ice cream? The stamps are from Unity's Perfect in Every Way kit. It's a past KOTM. The paper is DCWV Citrus Stack. Doesn't it look yummy? I wish it was summer weather here but we had a ton of rain here today. So odd!
I was exhausted last night when I wrote my post and forgot to add this Ippity card I made into the post. How sad for this poor little card, huh? So, I'm editing to add it.

This is a card I made for the sketch over at 2Sketches4You this week. I'm in love with this sketch! I think it's super fun! I used Ippity's The Simple Things set for this. And the paper and the sentiment sticker are Cosmo Cricket's DeLovely. I can't put that paper pad down! It's amazing!! The ribbon is Bazzill.

Have a great weekend everyone! Drop by the Unity Blog and check out everyone on the hop today!

A Couple Challenge Cards

Ok, I'm gonna try to keep it short because I need to get these kiddos out of the house before we all go BANANAS!!

First up is my card for the Off The Wall Craftiness challenge. I had the pleasure of meeting Kim at CHA and have talked to her a
little here and there online since then but I haven't gotten to play her challenge until this week. It's a fun one though. For this card, I used my Caffinated Cropper Birds of a Feather kit. I did add the white card base and the yellow ribbon from MFT. I quite love the way this turned out. It looks just like it did in my head and that's VERY rare for me! :)

Next up, I combined a bunch of challenges for this card. I used the sketch from GetSketchy, the border punch challenge from Your Next Stamp, and the sparkle challenge from Whimsical Wednesdays, The Diedrich Dare. The stamp is Ippity for the Now and Forever set which I am in love with. The DP is Cosmo Cricket Delovely as is the sentiment sticker. The ribbon is from Joann Fabrics.

Whew! Off to take the kids to the park! Hugs!

Flutter Anya

Good morning friends! I hope you are all having a lovely day! We are well on the road to recovery here which I am super grateful for. The baby still likes to get out so that's nice.

Here's a card I made for the SCS CAS DT try out. I didn't make it however. I'm kind of sad but I'm thinking this card just wasn't clean enough. It was hard because they challenge called for a person, character or group and bright and bold elements. Also, texture was an added bonus. I guess I should have made the DP much smaller, that probably would have made all the difference. Oh well, I'm very happy with this card. I think it's adorable. The stamp is TGF Flutter Anya. The DP and sticker letters are Cosmo Cricket. The ribbon is from Target $ Spot. And I added some Stickles to Anya's wings.

I hope you all have an excellent Thurs! Just one more day until the SATC movie! YAY!!

I Heart Doilies!

Hello friends! I guess it should come as no surprise to you that I am not sick with the same virus Parker has. Sigh...this is what I get for letting him always play with my face. I didn't feel sick yesterday, but I'm not feeling good today. Hopefully, it will pass quickly and without too much pain or anything.

Ok, so I am love love loving doilies right now! I'm super girlie so I guess it's not a big surprise. I got a Hero Arts doily stamp earlier this week. Isn't it GORGEOUS! I wanted it to really stand on it's own so I didn't want to do too much with it. I stamped it three times, twice in Versamark and once in black. Then I added some Kaisercraft pearls. I tied some tulle on the card and added a stick pin. Then I punch the bottom corners. The sentiment is from Regal Greetings from Ippity, which I added on a little banner.

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday! :)

CardPatterns 65

Hello friends! I hope that you are having a great beginning to your week! Ours is a little rough. We intended to go to the DMV but didn't have all our ducks in a row so we have to push that back yet again. Then we have out that Parker has Stomatitis which is a virus that's leaving sores in his mouth. We can't do anything for him but give him tylenol. Hopefully, he'll be better really soon.

Ok, so here's a card I made for CardPatterns sketch 65. It's so funny, because this is my go to sketch! Well, without the buttons that is. I was talking to my friend JoAnn (who I know outside of stamping, how cool is that?!) and we were talking about this very same sketch before I even saw it. We agreed that it was always a go to. Teehee, isn't that funny? Alright, this card is also for the Unity Addicts challenge over on SCS, to use Unity Stamps and staples on your card. I used Unity/Cosmo Cricket's Garden Variety. The buttons and ribbon are from my stash.

Happy Tues everyone! I hope it's fantastic!

Ippity Masculine Thanks

Happy Monday, Friends! Hope you had a good weekend! I'm having a really good time playing with all my new Ippity Stamps.

This card was made with the current sketch over at Card Positioning Systems. When I saw it, I immediately thought of the new Ippity set, A Moment in Time. How perfect are the patterned rectangles for this sketch! I used A Bit of Burlap for the Kraft paper. I stamped it quite a few times for the effect shown here. And the sentiment is from The Simple Things. Amazingly, there's no patterned paper on this card.

Check out the Ippity Blog for all the participants of today's awesome blog hop!

Hopping with Birds of a Feather

***This is my second post for today, for Unity Friends With Flair, please scroll down!***
Woohoo! It's time for another Caffinated Cropper hop featuring Birds of a Feather! Have you gotten your kit yet? If not, what are you waiting for? The kit is on SALE right now for $29 with free shipping AND a surprise GIFT for the first 5 people who order! That is a SUPER deal! Especially since you get coupons to EAD Designs, Whimsy Haven digi stamps, and Paper Makeup Stamps! It pretty much pays for itself!

Ok, onto my card, I was inspired by one of my fellow DT girls for this card. I just love the idea of THIS CARD by Christi Thorsen. I love the idea of having an image not colored but still so focal. I didn't do as great as Christi, but I wanted to give it a try. Everything you see here except the Kraft card stock and the white button are from the Birds of a Feather kit.

Check out the DT!!

FWF: Little Cosmo Cricket

Hooray for Friday! One more day until "our" weekend though. ;) I got a little help on my card today from my friend Christi Snow who told me I should use my newest Unity purchase then told me which stamp set to use. Thanks Christi!!

I inked up my uber cute new Unity/Cosmo Cricket set, Garden Variety. Eeeek! It's adorable! I haven't been this excited about veggies in a long time! Ok, maybe ever. Teehee! The image on the white scalloped circle is from the set. The paper is from Cosmo's Garden Variety paper pack. I love all things coordinating! It makes it so I don't have to think so much. The letters are from Pink Paislee.

Don't forget to drop by the Unity blog to see the list of everyone participating in today's hop! You gotta find the flair and leave a comment if you want to enter to win the grab bag of stamps!

Creative Inspirations Paints Go 3D!

I hope this counts as a 3D project since that was the challenge for the Creative Inspirations Paint team this week. Actually, the challenge did say you could make a gift item and that's what I opted to do. I've been wanting to make a bookmark for a while now, ever since I got the bookmark holder in my Caffinated Cropper kit.

I started this project by cutting down a piece of chipboard. Then I painted it with Creative Inspirations Paint in Garnet. I cut small strips of MME paper and scalloped punched them. I layered the paper at the bottom. I stamped the image from Ippity's Books A Flutter stamp on white card stock, colored the books with markers and then painted the butterfly with Creative Inspirations Paint in Tutu Pink. I added the sentiment with some Cosmo Cricket stickers and added some natural ribbon from Joann Fabrics.

It was a pretty simple project once I got it all figured out in my head, which took MUCH longer. But I think this would make a nice gift with either a book or a gift card to a book store. I love love love reading and many of my friends do too!

Be sure to check out the Creative Inspirations Paint blog to see what the DT has made for you today!

EtsyInspired #88 ~ Creation Designs

Alright, so I am totally late on this week's EtsyInspired challenge. Again, I blame the internet issues I've been having. Rude. Anyhow, the shop for this week is Creation Designs. This shop sells vintage items and items that are made from vintage things like wind chimes, jewelry, and wall hangings. (Did you know that you can buy vintage on Etsy? It's allowed along with handmade items and supplies to make/package your items.) I really like how this shop repurposes the lovely vintage things in a way that you can display them for everyone to see. Seriously, why would you just want to put your gorgeous vintage spoons in a drawer where no one can see them? This week's shop is offering a $20 gift certificate as one of the prizes.

This week, one of my FAVORITE online stores is sponsoring the challenge! Limelight Papercrafts!! They have an amazing selection of the BEST stuff from card making and scrapping like Basic Grey, May Arts Ribbon, Unity Stamps, Lawn Fawn Stamps, etc... Love this shop! Mandy is offering one lucky winner Basic Grey Max and Whiskers buttons and epoxy stickers! Super cute!

All you have to do is play along...
- Visit Creation Designs and find an item that inspires you
- Create a project of your own based off that inspiration
- Link your project up on the
EtsyInspired #88 post on the EIC blog by Friday, May 21 at noon PST

Everyone will be entered into a random drawing to win. If you upload to SCS or PCP, please use keyword EIC88. And please remember to give credit to the shop that you found your inspiration from.

And if this is your first time joining us...welcome! You can check out extra details about our challenge
HERE.

Here's my card for this week. It's inspired by the picture above. The paper here is Basic Grey Indian Summer. The stamp is from Ippity's The Simple Things. I used the EBTKS sketch for this card as well as doing Jessica Witty's phone book challenge.

Super Late Post

My internet went out on Thurs morning and (to be perfectly honest) when I found out that we wouldn't have an appointment to get it back up until May 19th, I didn't make my card. But now that I've found that there are little spots of my house where I can connect wirelessly using Dustin's laptop, I've decided to make some cards.

Here's my Caffinated Cropper card that I should have posted last Friday. I used the Limelight sketch and product challenge for this card. All the elements are from the May Caffinated Cropper kit except the white card stock. I just used three punches and this card came together super fast.

Don't forget to go over to Amy's blog and buy this awesome kit!

No Internet

Hi everyone! Just writing to tell you that we don't have internet in our home right now. Comcast made a huge mistake and hopefully, they will right it for us. As of right now, they aren't available to come out until May 19. :( So, I might not be blogging until then unless I can "find" some internet with the laptop or head to Starbucks. The latter is a bit of a challenge with two kids under the age of 3. Anyhow, I miss you all and hope to be back soon!

Ippity Release!!

Hi all! Super short post today because I thought I could pull myself together from something exciting like the release but I just can't. Sorry to be so negative. I wasn't able to get all my Ippity site stuff done yet. I will be lowering my prices in the week or so to come, as soon as I can get around to it. Please email me if you are interested in buying anything before then.

Here's a card I made with the new release set called The Simple Things. I used a sentiment that says "While I breathe, I hope." I love that! The paper here is Basic Grey.

Be sure to check out all the Ippity chicks showing off the new release by going to the Ippity blog for the list. There's also a release party on the Ippity forum (within the Unity forum) on Splitcoast.

In a Funk

I'm still kind of in a funk. I have no idea when and how I'm going to pull out of it. I just don't really feel like creating or really doing anything. We think we will stay at this house and see if the short sale goes through here. If it does, we'll probably sign a lease with the new owners. It's nice to be able to put all the boxes in the recycle and start unpacking our stuff. However, the kids are both sick so it's taking longer than I hoped.

But I still feel so off kilter. I was still trying to find my center from everything that happened at the end of last year with my parent's divorce and my Grandmother passing when all this house stuff happened. I felt like I was just barely getting back to my old self when this just knocked me off again. I am reeling and struggling really hard to find my center.

I do have a creation but it's made with some BRAND NEW Ippity so I'll post it after the release party on Thurs. Have a wonderful week, friends!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there! Isn't it amazing how something so broad (as having a baby) can give us all a common bond to connect us? I can meet a mom in a grocery store, a bank, a doctor's office and we'll immediately have something to talk about, no matter how old her children are.

So, today, celebrate the moms in your life be it your own mom, your sister, your grandma, or your friends. Let me tell you, it is HARD work to have a piece of your heart walking outside of your body. I'll leave you with this piece of writing that since I've had children has touched me.

AN ANGEL CALLED MOM
The child asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to Earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"
"Your angel will be waiting for you and take care of you."
The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but smile and sing to be happy."
God said, "Your angel will sing for your and also will smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."
Again the child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?"
God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care your angel will teach you how to speak."
"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"
"Your angel will place your hands together and teach you how to pray."
"Who will protect me?"
"Your angel will defend you even if it means risking it's life."
"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."
God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you the way to come back to me, even though I will always be next to you."
At that moment there was much peace in heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name."
"You will simply call her "Mom."

EtsyInspired #87 ~ Lindsay Brackeen

I'm going to have to apologize, yet again, for the short post. I really don't know what to say. I guess, the stress is just getting to me and I am not feeling much like myself lately.

This week's shop is Lindsay Brackeen. This shop is full of fun, whimsical and unique art pieces. They offer different sized prints, original artwork, and dolls. I really like the modern feel of this shop as well as the use of different textures that you can see even in the shop photographs.

Along with this week's amazing shop, we have an awesome sponsor! My friend and former EIC guest designer, Court Baker has her own stamp line called Practicing Creativity. I'm a huge fan of these awesome stamps! She's giving one lucky winner a Key to My Heart stamp set.

Ready to play?
- Visit Lindsay Brackeen's shop and find an item that inspires you
- Create a project of your own based off that inspiration
- Link your project up on this post using the new InLinkz on the EtsyInspired #87 post on the EtsyInspired blog by Friday, May 14 at noon PST

Everyone will be entered into a random drawing to win. If you upload to SCS or PCP, please use keyword EIC87. And please remember to give credit to the shop that you found your inspiration from.

Here's my card for this week. I used Practicing Creativity's You're Dandy set. This is one of my all time favorite stamp sets. I did have to stamp the clouds a couple times to get the pigment ink to show up on the card stock. The DP is Basic Grey, Lemonade. I used the current 2 Sketches 4 You challenge for this card.

FWF: Sew What?

Hi Friends! Happy Friday! Super quick post today because it's 1:30am. Yikes! My stomach felt sick earlier and I laid down to rest for a bit but after the kids went to bed, I fell asleep. I woke up about an hour ago remembering that I have blog stuff to do!
This is a card I made for Jenn Balcer, Lori Craig, and Beate John's challenge for the Unity anniversary party. They had a great sketch and we had to use FOUR patterned papers and buttons or bling. The stamps here come from the Super Sweet and Stuck on You set, April's Retail Store kit. The paper is Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl. The ribbon is May Arts and the buttons are PTI.

Please check out the Unity Blog to see the list of everyone participating in the hop today! Happy Weekend everyone and Happy Mother's Day to my mom friends!

Creative Inspirations Icing Challenge and Diedrich Dare

Hello everyone! Today is a Creative Inspirations Paints day on my blog. YAY!! I love love love these paints! I just got some new ones yesterday so I will be making lots more new things in the feature. This week's challenge is called All About the Icing. We were to use Creative Inspirations Paints on our embellishments.

Wanna know the BEST part about these paints?? They save you money!! Each jar is only $2.25 and you can use them to customize your embellishments. Meaning, no more having to buy everything matchy matchy!

Here, I've painted the die cut birds with Royal Purple and Sky Blue. Then I painted the flower to match! It was originally pink, but now it matches perfectly! No more having to buy every single color flower! How cool is that? Also, this is a SNEAK PEEK at the new Caffinated Cropper kit! I combined it with last month's kit and made this card. All I added to the kit is the card stock and the paint! I used the adorable sketch from this week's Diedrich Dare Challenge for this card.

Be sure to check out the Creative Inspirations Paints blog for the inspiration the DT has for you today. Happy Thursday everyone!

Mare Bear's Challenge

Last week, Maren (aka Mare Bear) issued a challenge to make a card inspired by something you found in an issue of Paper Crafts Magazine or one of the awesome idea books that they put out. Also, you needed to use a Unity Stamp since this challenge was for the Unity birthday celebration. I was inspired by a card made by Niki Estes that is in the May/June 2010 Paper Crafts Magazine on page 67.

I made a few changes to Niki's card. I moved my sun to the opposite corner and did a different ribbon treatment. I stamped my sentiment directly on the sun and added faux stitching and pearls to embellish. I also added some fun stamped clouds that I covered in Stickles. All the stamps are from Unity's Pocket Full of... kit. The DP is SU, the ribbon is May Arts, and the pearls are Kaisercraft.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Personal Note and Paulina's Blog Candy

I haven't felt much like blogging or making any cards lately. I think it's all the stress I'm under. We still don't know if we will be staying in this house. It's up for short sale and the bank has to accept the offer. The new owners have already expressed that they want to keep us on as tenants. The one draw back is that the people who currently have the house are trying to charge us rent even though this house is in default. Sigh...I don't understand why I should give them my money when they aren't using it to pay the bank or maintain the house. So, that's what's going on with me.

Also, my friend Paulina has amazing blog candy on her blog!! Click HERE to check it out!

All Things Unity 5

Are you all ready for a new All Things Unity challenge?? :) I sure am! This time, we have a color challenge for you. Here are the colors, to the right. There are no specific brands you need to use, just come as close to the colors as you can. I added some neutrals to my card too. Sara's pretty relaxed, so I'm gonna go with it's ok to do that. :)

Here's my card for this week. I also used the Inked Stained 4-30 sketch. The stamp is from Unity's April '10 KOTM. The paper is Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird. The twine is from one of my Caffinated Cropper kits. And the pearls are Kaisercraft.

Be sure to check out the DT:

EtsyInspired #86 ~ Isabell's Umbrella

This week's EtsyInspired shop is Isabell's Umbrella. This shop is so adorable and the artist behind the shop's name is Ashley! Fun, right? This shop has the CUTEST illustrations! And they are used to make the most darling things. The shop offers fun products like magnets, stationery, plushies, bookmarks, prints, car decals, etc.. If I had the money, I would buy everything in this shop! I love the different cultures that are featured in this shop as well! So fabulous! Also our featured Etsy shop this week, Isabell's Umbrella, is generously giving away a stationary set, magnet, and bookmarks!

Our sponsor this week is a new stamp company, Lawn Fawn, owned by one of our previous guest designers, Kelly Marie! Her line of photopolymer clear stamps is adorable, trendy, and fun! And she is getting ready to release a few new sets so keep your eye on her blog for sneak peeks! Kelly will be giving one lucky winner Lawn Fawn's 'critters in the 'burbs' stamp set.
