FWF: Some Melody Ross

Hi everyone! Hope that your week was good and that your weekend goes well! We have a fun one here. We have a wedding on Saturday and then on Sunday, it's my friend's birthday.

Onto today's card. Have I told you all how much I LOVE Melody Ross? She is amazing! I get her daily emails and they touch my heart, you can sign up HERE. She is so on point and intuitive. Every single woman should sign up for the Brave Girl email.

What does this have to do with my card? This card uses a Melody Ross stamp set called Life Becoming which is a retail only set. I paired it with a butterfly I die cut and embossed (Cuttlebug.) I also added some Basic Grey Capella paper, vintage lace, Colorbok bling and a doily I painted with some Creative Inspirations Paint in antique silver.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Don't forget to check out the Unity blog for the list of everyone participating in today's hop!

Four More Sketch Cards

Alright friends, in a list ditch effort to try to make a bunch of Bella Blvd cards for their Facebook contest, I've made a couple more cards in the last few days. I'm able to do this because it's still technically our weekend. I craft FAR less on the "week days." I hope you all had a wonderful day!

My first card is a no stamping card. It's for this week's GetSketchy sketch. It uses Bella Blvd Plastino paper. The ribbon is May Arts, the stick pin is Dritz, and the sentiment is EAD Designs from their Sweet Birthday Treats Stickerz set.
My second card is for Mercy's sketch #84. This girl is SO talented! I need to do her sketches more! So, I didn't follow the sketch exactly, this card kind of took on a life of it's own. Again, this is Bella Blvd Plastino. The stamp is The Greeting Farm and the alphas are Cosmo Cricket.
This is for a challenge I missed and I am SOOO bummed! It's a new (to me) blog called A Craft Little Place. This was last week's sketch and they were giving $1 for each card made to a gal who had been in an accident. I LOVE that they did that, so that's why I played along but I didn't link fast enough. :( Again Bella Blvd Plastino and The Greeting Farm.
My last card is for Jen Del Muro's current SFYTT. This is a fun sketch. I didn't think I would like it, you know how I feel about lots of layers, but I think I made it work. Again the paper is Bella Blvd Plastino. The CB folder is Argyle, the stamp is CC Designs Swiss Pixie, the ribbon and rhinestones are from Michael's.
Have a great Wednesday everyone! Hugs!

Sassy Cheeky Shooter

Hi friends! I hope you had a great Monday! I had a great one! I spent the day with friends and I have a great time! Though, I'm still feeling a little sick, I am trying to push through it.

Here's a card I made over the weekend with the Club Anya Saturday sketch. I've been practicing my coloring lately since I'm really rusty. This is also the first time I've ever colored black hair, so be gentle with me. The image here is Cheeky Shooter. The paper is Jillibean Soup. The alphabet stickers are My Little Shoebox and the rhinestones are from Colorbok.

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!

Ippity Hop: More Bella Blvd

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had an excellent weekend! I tried, but I was still pretty sick. :( One day, I'll stop whining about this!

I have a couple cards to share with you today. The first is a card I made for the All Things Unity challenge. I used to be on this team and they have the BEST most fun challenges! You should go join in! the current challenge is a sketch and it's very fun! I used some Bella Blvd All Inclusive for this card, all the patterned paper if from that line. And the stamps are from Ippity's Fishy Philosophy set. I think this sentiment is just so cute! I love Finding Nemo! I popped the fishy up to give him some dimension. I'm also entering this one in the Moxie Fab World fun and cute challenge because seriously dots and fish? What's cuter?

The next card I made is with the current Card Positioning Systems sketch. It's super clean and simple and to tell you the truth, I had issues with it. I don't know why. But this is what I ended up with. I used Ippity's Now and Always kit for this one. I tried working in a sentiment but I just couldn't make it work. The paper is from Bella Blvd Plastino.

I tried to do a different effect on this stamped flower. I used my Creative Inspirations Paint for this. I applied the paint directly to the stamp. I think I'll do a tutorial on this later this week. The colors I used are Tutu Pink, Tickled Pink and Fuchsia.

Have a great day everyone! And don't forget to check the Ippity blog to see all the people participating in this week's hop!

Bella Blvd and Some Sketches

Ok, so I've been crafting really slowly through my 200 cards. Mostly I've been sick with this stupid virus that won't go away. Also, some of the cards I've made were for calls and I like for those to be perfect so I don't just slop them together. Finally, the point of the self challenge is NOT for me to bust through as many cards as I could as fast as I can. The point is to use the supplies I have and re-discover all the wonderful things that are already hiding in my scrap room.

But today, I decided to bust some cards out. What can I say? Some days, I feel like making a bunch. Plus, we didn't do much today so I had plenty of time. I did take a nap, I am trying to recover from this darn thing but I can't seem to kick it. Anyhow, today I pulled out some Bella Blvd paper that has gone long neglected and brought up a bunch of sketches. Here's a few of the cards I came up with.

This first card is for my friend Tenia's Jazzy Paper Designs Inspiration challenge. I want to say I've played along with this challenge before but I'm not sure. (Sorry, Tenia!) So, here's my take on her challenge this week, it's a sketch. All the paper is Bella Blvd Plastino, the ribbon is MFT, the stick pin is Dritz.
This card is using the Card Patterns sketch for this week. This uses Bella Blvd's All Inclusive line. The only things I added are the dew drops and the kraft card stock.
This last one is another one for the EBtKS challenge. I like the sketch, it's so easy to use! I added some pearls to the flip flops and that's about it.
Have a great night everyone!

Mint Motif Card and I HEART Kimberly Crawford

This card comes with a story. :) Back in January, I had the pleasure of meeting Kimberly Crawford at CHA. Sadly, I didn't know who she was but everyone told me how amazing she is and how talented. She was BEYOND sweet to me, but I'm pretty sure she's just that nice to everyone. I figured, she's just a nice person and I was lucky to meet her but I'll probably never talk to her again. But I was wrong, we became Facebook friends and kept in touch a little, just like any old Facebook friends do. (Here's the only pic I have with both Kimberly and I in it.)

Honestly, I thought that with someone as talented and amazing as Kimberly, she'd eventually just forget me since I'm just a little person (I mean that figuratively, I'm not little in size.) But I was wrong, when I'm sad, Kimberly reaches out to me. She's is beyond nice and I have no idea what I did to deserve this kind of sweetness! This leads me to my card.

I made this card with Kimberly in mind, because she really is the sweetest. She makes me feel special. :) Kimberly launched a stamp line called Mint Motif a couple months ago. I bought mine at I Heart Papers where they are exclusively sold. These stamps are really cute and of super high quality. For this card, I used Very Square and Very Square Sentiments. I love this stamps! They are awesome! I just used a couple of my Ippity inks, some white and kraft card stock, a square punch and presto, card! Easy as can be! I'm entering this in the Moxie Fab World Clean and Graphic challenge.

Anyhow, thanks Kimberly for being so sweet and making me feel special! You are FABULOUS!

SALE SALE SALE!

Happy Friday everyone! Are you all ready for the weekend? We kind of are. :) Ours is a little different from everyone else's, I'm sure I've mentioned this a million times.

Anyhow, I'm sure you wanna know about the SALE! Well, Caffinated Cropper is having a big SALE! All kits are $25 each! And FREE shipping! How's that for amazing?!?

Ok, so here's a gift bag I decided needed a little decoration. I used a couple elements from my Birds of a Feather kit for this one. The card stock and the patterned paper are both from the set. I edged the card stock with some Pink Paislee deco tape. Then I punched some butterflies out of the patterned paper (also Pink Paislee.) I added some bling for a little extra pop and there you have it. I'm waiting to stamp a sentiment on this until I know what I'm going to use it for.

Have a great weekend everyone! And don't forget to go get some Caffinated Cropper kits while the sale lasts!

Creative Inspirations Paint: Into the Woods

Today is Creative Inspirations Paint day on my blog! :) This week, we were given a challenge to make an "into the woods" themed card with plastic or metal embellishments. Ok, so I think I took the theme a little more literally than I could have. I heard unto the woods and I thought, I'll just make a card with a forest on it. I guess I could have thought outside the box a bit.
My card uses elements from Cosmo Cricket's Mr Campy. I used one of the papers as the background and did a couple stripes of paper that I punched the edge on. Then I took this journalling bit from the kit and dressed it up with paint. On the moon, I painted Creative Inspirations Paint in Citrus. On the black sky, I used the color Coal. I love how it adds so much shimmer and dimension to this card. But even with the shimmer (especially since it's not glitter), this can still be a very masculine card. For the plastic embellishment element, I chose to use buttons.

And here's a second picture to show you the absolute fabulous shimmer the paint gave. I wish I had taken a before picture of the journalling scene, because while it was very cute, it is just so special now! Isn't that fun?

Ok, don't forget to check out the AMAZING inspiration that the design team has created for you today by going to the CREATIVE INSPIRATIONS PAINT BLOG. Have a great day!

A Little More Shabby

Hello friends! I hope you are all having a wonderful Wednesday so far! I woke up just before 7am to Brady beating on his door. NOT fun! But what can you do? My ears are still a little clogged but I'm managing.

Here's another shabby chic card I made. Did you know that Paper Maniac is offering a free digi download each week of summer? They are doing that and having a different sale each week, I know because I get the newsletter.

Anyhow, this image was one of the free ones from last week. How cute is that? I love the vintage look of them and I took the advice in the newsletter and printed it out on Kraft. The paper I used is Webster's Pages. The ribbon is May Arts which I need a ton more of! The crocheted flower is Melody Ross for GCD. The button is vintage. The stamp is from Ippity's Simple Life. And the chipboard star is painted with Creative Inspirations Paint in sky blue. I'm entering this one in the shabby chic/vintage challenge over on the Moxie Fab World blog.

Have a great day everyone!

Taylored Expressions Blog Hop

I'm super excited to be participating in my first Taylored Expressions blog hop! And I'm SUPER glad that they allow you to use a set from the PAST since I only have one TE set. I know, I know! I should get more but I have to make like 170 more cards before I can. (Long story!)

For this blog hop, there was an optional sketch we could use made by my friend Sankari Wegman. Of course, I had to make a card based on this sketch because I love her so much and her sketch is genius! I used The Places You'll Go stamp set. I adore that TE has charity sets! That makes my heart happy! The patterned paper is Basic Grey, the rhinestones are Best Occasions and I finished the heart with some Glitz Stickles in Sequins, my first time using the Glitz kind, it's AMAZING! I also used a Fiskars border punch for this card.

And here's another card I made with this same set, obviously since it's my only one. The paper on this is Pink Paislee 365 Degrees. I punched some holes in the striped paper and threaded the sheer ribbon through. The image is colored with Copics. The die is Nesties Big Scalloped Ovals, the punch is EK Success.

I hope you all enjoy the hop! :)

Some Big Headed Kids

I very lovingly refer to The Greeting Farm kids as big headed kids. I love love love them. I, too, have a big head and I'm happy that there are a line of stamps for people like me. ;) I'm only kind of joking, my head really is abnormally large.

Ok, so this first card is for the Oh, Alice challenge (something under the sea) and for the Wee Memories challenge (a summery card). This is mermaid Anya. Confession: I haven't colored with Copics in a LONG time so I'm super rusty. The paper here is Basic Grey's Euphoria. I used my trusty Labels 1 and some Waterfall Stickles. ETA: This card was made using the Card Positioning Systems sketch for this week.

My second card is for The Play Date Cafe Challenge. The challenge is to use lime green, purple and lilac. Look at me, I'm actually getting my cards in before the deadline these days! I'm pretty darn proud of myself! This is a Wild Sprout from TGF named Dahlia. The DP is Kaisercraft Lilac Avenue and the ribbon is from Target $ Spot!

Have a great day friends! Again, please forgive my coloring as I try to get more practice.

Have a Whale of a Time!

Hello friends! I am beat this Monday! I'm feeling ok but every now and then a bout of vertigo takes me out. I'm hoping this virus doesn't last much longer. I didn't get much done today, but I did submit some projects to Paper Crafts Magazine, wish me luck!

Ok, today I have a card for three challenges. The first is the EBtKS challenge which is a sketch this time. The second is the Wee Memories Challenge to make a summer inspired card. And the third is Moxie Fab World's Fun and Cute challenge. My favorite thing about summer is the beach and ocean so I made a whale card with BRIGHT colors. The stamps are Lawn Fawn, I love love love their critters! This set is called Critters of the Sea. I used Nesties Lables 4 and a Martha Stewart border punch for this one.

Oy, here comes the vertigo again. Have a great night everyone!

Lazy Sunday

Oh my goodness! After suffering all week with this virus and the horrible vertigo that came with it, I want to do absolutely NOTHING today. Which is usual for me, since I'm a busy body. I'm exhausted and I can't wait to feel like myself again.

I had big plans for blogging today, but the thought of taking pictures, uploading, adjusting, watermarking, etc... makes me tired! So, here's an older card that I haven't shared yet. It's super clean and FAST! The sticker and patterned paper are from Reminisce. The rhinestones are from Studio 18. I think this is perfect for the Clean and Graphic challenge over at Moxie Fab World.

Thanks for stopping by again. If I can find some energy, I'll have more blog posts later. :) Happy Sunday, friends!

FWF: Vintage? Shabby Chic?

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a great Friday! This week is SHORT for me. Dustin had to take a day off work to help me when I was sick but he still work Saturday so we'll see how short I think it is tomorrow. ;)

Ok, so here's a card I made for the Moxie Fab World vintage/shabby chic challenge. The lace on this is vintage, does that make it a vintage card? I'm not sure. Anyhow, the designer paper and die cuts are all from K and Company. The butterfly is punched with a Martha Stewart punch from Basic Grey paper. The sentiment is Unity's Life Becoming (which is a store half kit), I got it HERE at i{heart}papers. I stamped it in Memento Rich Cocoa. I painted the edges with some Creative Inspirations Paints. However, I accidentally grabbed Ice Blue instead of a white. It dried MUCH bluer than I thought.

Be sure to check out the Unity blog to see a list of everyone participating in this week's Friends With Flair hop! Have a great weekend everyone!

Birdie Smiles

Hello friends! I'm having a hard time lately. This vertigo is really getting the best of me and I'm hoping that it stops soon so that I will be able to get back to normal.

Ok, so here's a card I made for a whole bunch of challenges. I figure that if I am only able to make a couple cards every now and then, I might as well get more bang for my buck, so to say. So, this is card is using the Card Positioning Systems #175 sketch, for Amy's challenge on Yvonne's blog HERE, and Moxie Fab's challenge to be fun and cute.

All the elements on my card are from Cosmo Cricket's DeLovely other than the the card stock and the ric rac. The card stock is Stampin Up and the ric rac is American Crafts. I used the ric rac to make the squares on the pink panel but I'm not sure that making the yellow panel so big shows it off. What can you do? Live and learn.

Alright, have a great night everyone!

The Play Date Cafe 37

Eeeek! I'm just under the wire for this blog post. I went to the doctor about an hour ago and he said I have some cold virus that's causing my vertigo and my other symptoms. However, there's no medicine for viruses so I just get to tough it out. Oh joy.

Anyhow, I need to blog and show you my Play Date Cafe Challenge card for this week. I'm not sure I nail the whole Provencal style but I think I did ok on the colors. :)

Here's my card using some My Mind's Eye, Love Me Do. I've had this pack for so long and I've never pulled it out before this week and that's a shame. I love the colors! The punch is EK Success. The ribbon is from a grab bag from my LSS and the stick pin is Dritz.

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Vertigo

I'm feeling super sick today. So, if I'm not answering emails, posting blog comments, blogging, etc... this is why. I'm going to the doctor is just over an hour so hopefully, I'll be back to normal soon.

One More Torendi Challenge Card

Ok, so those darn Torendi girls had to torment me with this YUMMY picture. I mean, seriously?? Who could resist this? I'm from California and we eat a lot of sushi here. :) Now, I'm craving sushi like no one's business. I'll have to see if some of my girls will go out with me since Dustin does not partake in the sushi.

Ok, so I took my inspiration from the yummy picture. I am out of sushi rub-ons and I'm kind of not sure what some of my other rub-ons are from THIS set. Teehee! But I do know that I can't eat sushi without some soy sauce. I mean, I can eat some rolls without it but just plain sashimi and maki rolls, I need soy sauce for.

I colored my little soy sauce bottle with Copics, but I flat colored. :( I was tired, what can I say? The paper is Basic Grey. The ribbon is from May Arts. The punch I used is from Fiskars. The image and sentiment (shoyu means soy sauce in Japanese) come from the Deliciously Kawaii rub-on set by EAD Designs for Torendi.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

Practicing Creativity Sketch

Hi friends! Boy, it's been a STRESSFUL day! Today started with about a billion people coming to our door to see the house b/c it went up for auction today. I DO NOT allow strangers into the house with the kids. Sorry people! The first guy came before 8am! Can you believe it?! I guess the house sold so we'll see what happens. I did however get to take a card class, more about that on Sunday.

Onto the card. My friend Court Baker owns an awesome stamp company called Practicing Creativity. Her stamps are amazing quality and super cute! She has a few sketches over on her blog and I decided to plan along. I used Look Up from Practicing Creativity. The paper is Cosmo Cricket's DeLovely. The ribbon is from Joann Fabrics.

Have a great night everyone! Also, check out my friend Jodi's BLOG CANDY, it is amazing!!

CPS174 Feature

Hi everyone! I am so excited today since my card is being featured on the Facebook Fan section of Card Positioning Systems! This is one of my favorite challenges and I'm so flattered that my work will be displayed on their blog!

Here's my card based on sketch 174. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey Kioshi. The bird is die cut with Nesties from sheet music. The rhinestone flourish is from Recollections and is surprisingly early to work with! And the sentiment is My Favorite Things Essential Sentiments set.

I hope you enjoyed my card! There's still some time to play along with the challenge if you haven't already!

***Please scroll down for my Creative Inspirations Paints VIDEO from yesterday!***

Hello friends! I am so happy to tell you that I get to do a second term with Creative Inspirations Paints! I love love love these paints, they make me so happy!

This week, we are getting inspired by FRUIT! Any fruit we want. It's awesome because this theme is also on my friend Sarah's blog as a challenge. I pulled out some Basic Grey Lemonade paper. I used my super pretty Creative Inspirations Paint in Sea Foam to make my Thickers match my ribbon and paper. The ribbon is from May Arts and the stick pin is Dritz.

Be sure to check out the Creative Inspirations Paints Blog to check out what all the other girls have done!

Creative Inspirations Paints Video Tutorial

Hi everyone! Today I created a card using some Creative Inspiration Paints. I mixed up my own color so I wanted to make a video to show you how to do that. The video is at the bottom of this blog post.

This card was made for the Off The Wall Craftiness. The inspiration photo is shown to the right here. Every week, Kim offers a new challenge on her blog with a sponsor. It's very fun and she picks some fabby inspiration photos! You can see this specific challenge right HERE.

For my card, I used a Cuttlebug die cut and embossing folder combo for the butterfly. I mixed a couple Creative Inspirations Paints to make this navy color, I used Royal Blue and Onyx. I added some Recollections rhinestones to it. The ribbon is from May Arts. The patterned paper is from Pink Paislee's Bayberry Cottage. I punched it with a Martha Stewart border punch. The stamp is from Ippity's Regal Greetings, available for purchase through me RIGHT HERE.

And as always for my Creative Inspirations Paints pictures, I took another picture so you can see the shimmer. As you can tell, you don't lose any when you mix the paints together.

Here's my video, I hope you enjoy it!
