Missing You

Hi friends! I hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday! We are ok over here. It's been SUPER hot here lately! It's crazy! Our temps have gone back up to 100! We are surviving though.

This is a card I made a LONG time ago for a call but obviously it wasn't accepted. I kept meaning to find it, tie a bow on it, take a new picture and post it. Well, that never happened. It's been MONTHS. So, I'm showing it to you as is. I think it looks like it's missing something.

Ok, have a great rest of your Wednesday!

Exciting NEWS! And a Card

Have you heard of Through the Craftroom Door magazine?!? Well, you are now looking at their new marketing director! WOOHOO!! I am so beyond excited to be helping Suzanne and Marti on this amazing (relatively new) venture!

If you haven't heard of Through the Craftroom Door, I'll tell you a little about it. It's a magazine that's available in print and as an online magazine. All subscribers get access to the Craftroom Door Ning group where there are tons of tutorials, videos, challenges, prizes, etc... The magazine is a lot different from everything else on the market right now. Each issue offers a new tutorial on Copics and die cut machines, so you can really maximize your supplies. The magazine also features MUCH more than just cards and layouts. There's also a call right now, you can read about it HERE.

Ok, here's a card I made using a couple challenges. The first challenge is this week's CardPatterns sketch. The second is the color challenge from this week's Off the Wall Craftiness challenge. I'm not sure I'm completely happy with this card. Maybe it needs a sentiment. I don't know.

Flashback Friday #3

Amy's at it again. :) She has decided that once a month, she'll put on the Flashback Friday challenge so that we can see how far we've come as crafters. It's a pretty fun challenge especially since I just love laughing at all the things I used to do. Challenge #3 is to post your first challenge project.

This is for an SCS sketch challenge back in the day. Do you LOVE my chipboard heart covered in flowers?? I must say, I would still use this color combo now. I still like it.

Are you all going to share YOUR first challenge card?

Feel Better (For Alexa) and a Card from Brady

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a great weekend! We had a fun one! :) D and I went to an 80's themed birthday party on Saturday night. That was really fun! And then on Sunday, we went to a dinner for his sister's birthday which was a good time.

I made this card for my friend Lauren Meader's daughter, Alexa, who is in the hospital with pneumonia. Ok, so Lauren and I aren't super close but the few times I've talked to her over email, she was SUPER nice and she's the first craft blog I started following. I adore that Lauren is constantly writing about her kids and I feel really drawn to Alexa's story. Ok, enough rambling.

I made this card using Taylored Expressions Sketch 129. I decided to try to color the Swiss Pixie to look like Alexa which in my world means she gets brown hair. :) Also, I know I need to stop with the tiny alphabet stickers but I can't. I think I need a 12 step program. And I'm entering this in the Flutter By Challenge, this week you can make a card with any winged thing!

While Parker naps, Brady comes in my office with me and hangs out. He mostly plays computer games on Nick Jr or Playhouse Disney. Sometimes he does puzzles. Then on RARE occasions, he asks to "make something." Last week, we had one of those days. He made a card for Nana and one for Daddy. They look pretty much the same. The image is TGF and the paper is DCWV.

Have a great day everyone! Thanks for stopping by!

FWF: For You

Happy Friday, everyone! I hope that you all had a great week! We have lots planned this weekend. We have a party (just us grown ups) on Saturday and then on Sunday we have a family dinner. So, let's hope I get some crafty time in.

Here's a card I made for the CAS challenge on SCS this week. I've challenged myself to get at least one SCS challenge done a week. We'll see how that goes. :) The challenge was to make a clean and simple card using the colors kraft, red, vanilla, and brown. Can you just take a look at that May Arts ribbon?? It's kind of perfect for this challenge, don't you think?

Have a great weekend everyone! And don't forget to check out the Unity Blog to see all the participants in this week's Friends With Flair hop!

Dinner Party Invite

Hello friends! Happy Thurs! I hope you all are having a great day! I am exhausted, I had a hard time sleeping last night then the baby woke up super early this morning. So, bring on the coffee and I hope I can make it through the day.

Here's my card for today. I used two challenges again. Apparently, that's my magic number. ;) The first is the color challenge from The Cat's Pajama's blog. The colors are eggplant, teal and olive. The second is the Mojo Monday sketch challenge.

A little story behind this card. My friends and I get together a couple times a month to have dinner. I was looking at my The Cat's Pajamas Thanksgiving set and thinking that it would make a CUTE dinner party invite. I mean, what's cuter than a penguin sitting down to eat? Ummm, nothing!

Ok, have a great Thurs everyone!

Hi There and a Sale

Hi everyone! Look at me, I'm blogging twice in one day. It's like I'm back to normal or something. :) Well, maybe. We'll see how long I can keep this up. But for the next couple days, I do have things to share. YAY!

I made this card for two challenges. The first is the sketch from Card Positioning Systems. And the second is the color challenge from iCopic which is brown, orange and yellow. It's a nice fall combo if you ask me.

Also, did you see the sale going on at Paper Maniac? All items in the Autumn Goodies are marked down 20%. There are tons and tons of items on sale!

Vintage Baby Card

Hello friends! Happy Wednesday! I'm feeling a bit better today, let's hope that keeps up. Knock on wood!

Here's another reject card. There's no stamping on this card, maybe that's an issue? Not sure. I was actually looking for a little sentiment to stamp on there but I couldn't find anything appropriate in my VAST stamp collection. Not to worry though, I ended up buying something for future use. I picked up some PTI sets from THIS fundraiser for Ethan's Rodeo. I'm a sucker for a charity sale, did you know? Oy!

Ok, have a super happy Wednesday everyone!

Sept Taylored Expressions Hop

Hi everyone! Welcome to my post for the Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past blog hop for Sept! Hope you are all enjoying the hop!

I need to be honest, I've not been feeling well lately and I left my card to the very last minute and I'm not happy with it at all! But I was trying to will myself to make a new card and all I could think about was crawling into bed. Next month, (I hope!) I will be better prepared and healthier. ;)

So, here's my card based on my friend Sankari's sketch made specifically for this hop. The stamp set I used is called Hangin' Out. This is the first time I've inked it up but I love the versatility! You can make baby cards, bachelorette cards, friend cards, love cards, etc... Just super cute! I used Echo Park paper, Bazzill ribbon, and an EK Success punch.

Have fun on the hop! Thanks for stopping by!

Makeup 4 the Weekend and Flutterby Challenges

Super quick post because I am so exhausted. I don't know why. I think it's just constantly being sick has depleted me. I'm hoping to get healthy soon.

Ok, so here's a card that's for a couple of my favorite challenges. PMS's Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge and the Flutter By Challenge. I used the PMS sketch which was perplexing and I did kind of a loose interpretation. And the Flutter By challenge is to use butterflies and buttons. You can see my button in the corner. The paper is Echo Park, the stamps are PMS Dandy Wishes.

Happy Monday everyone!

Charity Card Set

Last week, one of the gals from my mommy group had a Bunco and raffle night to benefit Juvenile Diabetes. I made this card set for her to raffle off. I didn't end up going to the event, but I do know this got raffled off. I hope it brought in a couple dollars for the cause.

I decided to CASE myself using this card HERE. This set uses some old Stampin Up paper. The sentiments come from Ippity's Just Wanted to Say. The butterflies are die cut using my Cuttlebug, I added some Stickles to create their bodies. And the punch is Fiskars.

Have a great Monday everyone!

Clueless Couponer (Post #1)

About two weeks ago, I decided that I wanted to learn how to coupon. We have a family of four now. The food costs are rather high and saving money is always a good thing. We have quite a bit of debt, not too much income, and there are simple things that I'd like to afford that are not currently in the budget like preschool for my tot or recreational classes for the kids like swimming, martial arts, or music.

Anyhow, I figure short of getting a job (not sure how much money that would bring in with child care costs) the only way to more money is to spend less. That and I love a good challenge. I'm starting small in hopes that I won't burn out or get too confused. So, I'm hoping to have a post once or twice a week about my progress. Granted, I've clipped a coupon here and there before. I've saved maybe $10-$15 on a shopping trip but I would like to REALLY coupon. :)

Here's my first real trip. It's not much. And I'm still buying things that we REALLY like and haven't become completely disregarding of brands yet. We'll see how it goes.
I got:
Dreyer's Ice Cream $2.99 (on sale, no coupon)
Mrs Refro's Salsa $4.19 (I know it's REALLY pricy but it's the BEST we've ever had and we try to use it sparingly)
Round Eye Roast $4.34 ($5 off coupon)
Foster Farms Chicken Breast Tenders $2.59 ($5 off coupon)
Roma tomatoes $.23 (on sale for $.47 a pound)
Belpastry Maple Pecan bars FREE (with coupon)

The receipt said I saved $17.55 or 55%. I tried to find smaller amount of meat but they were pretty well picked over.

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! I can't believe how fast this week has flown by! My goodness! Anyhow, we have a busy weekend coming up so I hope I get a chance to relax a little. I hope you do too!

Can I tell you that the one thing I like about having my cards rejected by magazines is that I have something to blog? Hardly, a consolation but what can you do? Anyhow, here's a reject card from a recent call for baby cards in non traditional colors. The stamp is from Ippity's Moonbeams and Heartstrings. The patterned paper is LYB Fresh Print Clothesline. The trim is Cosmo Cricket.

Creative Inspirations Paints: Book Club

Hey everyone! Today is another Creative Inspirations Paint Thursday! YAY! This week, our team is to make a card based on one of our favorite books. I tried really really hard to think of a way to make an Eat Pray Love card but I couldn't figure out how to make that theme into a card. So, you know, back to Twilight.

Ok, so I tried to make Edward (from The Greeting Farm) sparkly with paint by layering them over my Copics. But I had a really hard time since I used a card stock instead of a watercolor paper. So, please bear with me.

Here's my second picture to show the sparkle on the card. Teehee, clearly it's a sunny day on my card. I painted Edward's skin with Winter Frost and I painted his hair with Copper. The papers and sentiments are My Mind's Eye. The sketch is from this week's Card Positioning Systems challenge.

Be sure to check out the Creative Inspirations Paint blog to check out all the creations from the DT.

ALSO, did you know that Paper Maniac now carries Creative Inspirations Paint? You can find them HERE. How cool is that?!

CAS Gina K Card

Hello friends! I hope you all had a great weekend! I'm still feeling pretty crummy but what can you do?

Today, I'm blogging an OLD card. I tried to make a CAS card with my Gina K Lovely Shelf but I think I went a little too clean. This needs a ribbon or something. The paper is Basic Grey Kioshi.

Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday!

Paper Maniac Birthday Hop!!!

This is my first official post as a member of the Paper Maniac design team and it's Paper Maniac's BIRTHDAY!!!! You should have come here from the lovely Amy Tsuruta's blog if not, please go back to the Paper Maniac blog to start the hop. You don't want to skimp on this hop, leave comments along the way since the prize you can win is HUGE! Check the Paper Maniac blog for the prize pics and details.
The theme for this hop is celebration! After all, what's a birthday without a huge party? I tried to make some extra special stuff for this post but I think I fell as little short. I wanted to bake cupcakes but I'm really sick so I didn't get a chance. So, let's pretend the refrigerated brownie is a cupcake, ok?

Ok, so I used Echo Park Paper Company's Life if Good for this set. This paper is so pretty and SO high quality. The alphabet stickers that I used are from the Echo Park kit as well. The stamps are from a Unity Retail Store kit which Paper Maniac carries. This one is from last April, Total Cuteness. Everything is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and I embellished with some Bazzill Bling.

I wanted to explain the favor just a little. It's a candy holder and a bookmark. So, once you eat all the candy (you can use lollis, pixie sticks, or even pencils) you can still use this favor as a bookmark. Isn't that fun? I'll do a tutorial on this if anyone is interested.

Ok, now I want to tell you about ALL the ways you can WIN!!

1. Do this blog hop, you're on your way!

2. "Like" Paper Maniac on Facebook, one person will a prize package

3. Go to Paper Maniac and make a WISH LIST. Each day, someone will win $25 worth of items from their list!

4. Free gifts with every purchase! So, go shop and get yourself something free!

You're next stop is Patti's blog. Be sure to congratulate her on her amazing first year and awesome accomplishment! :D

Bad Pic of Reject Card and I'm Sick, AGAIN!

Hello friends! So, I went to the doctor again yesterday after having a horrible sore throat for a few days. Turns out that I have TONSILLITIS yet again! Oy! It's never ending for me, is it? I feel awful but still have both kids to take care of and this half unpacked house. :( Can't imagine there will be much stamping going on.

Ok, so here's a card I made that was rejected. What can you do? I like it, maybe it needs some ribbon or twine or something. The animals are from Lawn Fawn's Critters of the Sea. The sentiment is MFT. The paper is Echo Park from Paper Maniac.

Have a great day everyone!

I'm been keeping a BIG SECRET!! I've almost busted at the seams from excitement! I've been asked to join the Paper Maniac design team!!!!!

Patti, the owner, is always looking for the newest and best products and bringing them to you at a GREAT price! The shipping prices are extremely reasonable and she'll even refund you if you're overcharged by more than $1. Now, that's customer service!

EtsyInspired #104 ~ Glamasaurus

First off, I need to apologize for the lack of attention I'm putting into EtsyInspired lately. I'm so sorry for not having cards up or leaving comments. It's just been a rough adjustment for the kids to move and also a really hard time dealing with the Whooping Cough. I'm hoping to be back to normal soon but I can't make promises right now.

Ok, this week's EtsyInspired shop is Glamasauras. This shop has the cutest stuff ever! They have all sorts of jewelry, figurines, gift items, and lots of other stuff! It's all too cute for words. They have some fun pop culture icons in this shop, which are adorable. This week, Glamasauras is offering up a $20 gift certificate for one lucky winner.

This week's sponsor is Tiffany Doodles. They have THREE prizes for us this week! One person will win 5 digis of their choice, another person will win 3 digis of their choice, and yet another person will win 2 digis of their choice!

I'll let you run over to the EtsyInspired blog to find out how to play and to link your creation!

Here's my creation for this week. It's inspired by the bunny pendant seen in the first picture. I took the colors and the overall cuteness from the pendant. All the elements on my card are Bo Bunny other than the card base. I also used a Martha Stewart punch.

August Cards Mag Pub

Super quick post for today. I'm EXHAUSTED! Yesterday was a challenging day. Today has been a bit better.

I'm posting a card that was published in the August 2010 issue of Cards Magazine. It's in the We're Moving section, teehee, can you tell?? I actually QUITE love this card. It's my favorite one that's been picked up so far.

Hope you all have a great day and a wonderful long weekend!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANNI!!!

A LONG time ago, I wasn't on many DTs and I didn't have many followers. One day, I got a new follower and popped on over to that person's blog. Soon after, this person was doing a DT call for their challenge and I applied and was picked. That person who is now my FABULOUS friend is Danni Bindel.

Danni is just as sweet as pie and I adore her! She's super talented and just wonderful to everyone. Saturday is Danni's birthday and she's having a big event on her challenge blog Flutterby Wednesdays.

I had to play along this week, not just for the FABULOUS prize but because it's Danni's bday! Who doesn't love a bday? So, I made a card using the Little Danni stamp from Victoria Case for SCACD. Of course, I needed to make a card with the stamp designed after Danni. I made it in her favorite color and I will be sending this over to her. (Sorry for ruining the surprise!) I colored the image with my Copics. I hope I've done her justice. The paper is Making Memories. The sentiment is from Practicing Creativity Designs. I fudged the sketch a little, hope that's ok.

Have the BEST bday every, Danni!!

PS Denami has blog candy HERE.

Creative Inspirations Paints Monochromatic

Hello friends! Today is a Creative Inspirations Paints day on my blog. Our challenge this week was to make a monochromatic card with ribbon or lace. (To tell you the truth, I forgot the ribbon and first and had to go back and put it on. Whoops!)

My little guy is a rub-on from Torendi, he had a balloon but there was a mishap with it when Parker came into my scrap room. Oy! So, I trimmed it off. I painted him in Garnet. I distressed the edge of the panel he's on with some Rustic Red paint. The sentiment is MFT. The patterned paper is Cosmo Cricket's Garden Variety. I put the ribbon on with my Tiny Attacher.

Ok, so here's my card before ribbon. Do you like it better? I'm not sure how I feel.

Don't forget to head over to the Creative Inspirations Paints blog to see all the amazing creations by the team!

Tardy Card

Hello friends! Happy Wednesday! This is the beginning of my week, since Dustin went to work today. Nothing big planned today and I'm hoping to not be so darn tired.

I made this card for my friend Carole's VSN challenge and I used the Card Positioning System's sketch from this week. However, I totally FORGOT to link it up to VSN on time. Whoops! Guess I have too much going on! The yellow paper and sticker are Cosmo Cricket from Snorkel. The dark purple card stock is stamped with Unity's Distress Dots. I added a couple staples from my Tiny Attacher and I rounded the corner with my EK Success corner rounder.

Have a great Wednesday everyone! And check out Jenny's giveaway HERE.
