A Couple Fall Cards

Hi everyone! Hope you had a great Halloween! We did! :D I'll post more on that later. I just wanted to throw up a few challenge cards real quick that are due tomorrow.

This first card is made with the Limelight Papercrafts sketch and product challenge from this last time. The product focus is fall colors. I also made this for a Hope You Can Cling To challenge to use twine. The stamp is Unity Bevy of Butterflies. The paper is Basic Grey Pyrus, the bling is Studio 18, and the twine is May Arts. I used my square punch to make this card. I really like the clean sketch!

My next card has a really special story. I follow Kristen's blog and over the last few months she's been struggling with her cousin's son Ethan and his battle with cancer. As she neared the end of her time with Ethan, she issued a challenge in his honor. To make a card with a gratitude theme because she was grateful for each moment with Ethan. I thought this was SO wonderful and that she is so strong to be grateful instead of angry. My heart hurts for the family, however Kristen's amazing perspective is so beautiful!

My gratitude card uses the Card Patterns sketch from last week. I also made this card for a HYCCT challenge to have 4 layers of paper and 4 kinds of embellishment. I used Ippity's Bitty Pixie Paisley and Fall For You for this card. I used Basic Grey Pyrus again.

Have a great night/wee hours of the morning, everyone! I'll be back later today with TONS of things to share!

Happy Halloween!!!

Hello friends! I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend! I've been hanging out with my friends a lot and that's been wonderful! I can't wait to trick or treat tonight! This is will Parker's first REAL trick or treat, last Halloween he was 4 months old so he sat in the stroller and watched.

Today, I am sharing with you some tags I made for a party that the kids went to earlier this week. My friend Amy made cookies and I made these tags to go on the bags. We have lots of little friends who I love! I hope they enjoyed their treats! I made three different variations of the same tag for them using Ippity's That's Creepy.

Happy Halloween, if you celebrate that, if not Happy Sunday!! :)

This week's EtsyInspired shop is BeiLeXian. OMGosh, this shop is so cute I could just scream! Seriously, the artwork in this store is just adorable! I love all things cute and whimsical, which describes this shop perfectly. They have all sorts of illustrations, I'm sure you'll find something to be inspired by. This week, BeiLeXian is offering up a print valued at $18 as a prize. The winner will be able to choose which adoralbe print they want.

Please head over to the EtsyInspired blog post # 112 to see how to play and to link up your creations.

Our sponsor this week is Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. They offer both clear and digital stamps. The designs on their stamps are adorable! They are giving away a $15 gift voucher this week! How awesome!

Here's my creation for this week. I made it using this week's sketch from 2Sketches4You. I was inspired by the photo above. The spooky tree reminded me of Halloween. I also used the colors and birds. :)

Sorry, friends! I was out at a costume party and just walked in the door at 2:15am. I would usually stay up and write the post but the kids have been getting up before 7am this week, so I'm going to bed. See ya tomorrow, or later today actually. :)

FWF: Pop-up Card

Hi friends! Welcome to my Friends With Flair post! I'm still blogging cards from WCMD, nearly a month ago! Wow, I'm behind!

Ok, today I'm sharing a pop-up card with you. I don't usually enjoy doing technique challenges but you know, I was trying to do all the challenges. I didn't succeed but you know, I gave it a go. So, here's a very simple pop-up card. I do think that I will start making more pop-up since it was super fast. I think that the kids would enjoy it in birthday cards.

Happy Friday everyone! Have a great weekend and a fabulous Halloween! And please be prepared to be bombarded with kid pictures following Halloween. :)

Hello EAD Challenge

Hi friends! Look at me blogging twice in one day! I'm pretty amazed at myself. I actually got this card done at nap time and I needed to blog it real quick before the EAD Challenge ends.

Ok, so this card uses the EAD color challenge seen below. I also used the sketch from Card Positioning Systems this week. It's a very clean and simple sketch which I LOVE! I added a layer to it for some added interest. Also, with the owl Stickerz, I tried to make it fit the color scheme better by coloring the tummy brown but some of the blue still shows through. Sorry EAD, I tried really hard! Oh, did you know that Paper Maniac carries EAD rub-ons and stickers? Isn't that cool? You can find them HERE!

I hope you all have a fabulous night!

No Stamp Thank You

Hello friends! Look at me, blogging two days in a row. It's like some sort of routine again. ;) Let's hope I can keep it up!

Here's yet another card I made on WCMD. I think I blogged this one over at the Paper Maniac blog already but not here so I thought I'd share. Again, my love of Echo Park Paper is pretty apparent. I love being able to use one kit and make a card by just adding some card stock and adhesive. It makes me happy! I should really just keep some crafting kits, card stock, and a glue runner in the kitchen for when the kids are doing crafts or nicely playing. Because that happens a lot, insert eye roll here.

Alright, have a great day everyone and hopefully, I'll remember to blog tomorrow too!

Sparkly Fluff!!!!

I've been a blogging slacker lately! I have no idea what's wrong with me, I have things to blog but never seem to get around to it. The cold has passed through our house without any major incident! YAY! That's a huge blessing since sometimes it will land one or both of my kids in the urgent care.

Ok, here's a card I made a while ago for one of the Unity WCMD challenges. Yes, a LONG time ago. ;) This was for the sparkle/shine challenge, also using an SCS sketch. Not sure which one. The stamp is Unity/Donna Downey. I accented it with my FAVORITE thing in the world, Sparkly Fluff from Our Craft Lounge! I love that stuff! I got to use it a CHA for a make and take and fell in love!

Have a fabulous day everyone!

Hi friends! I hope you had a great day! We've been sick this weekend, so we didn't do much. Lots of sleeping and lots of coughing. Hopefully, we'll be better soon!

Ok, so Paper Maniac is sponsoring Get Sketchy this week. They always have super challenging sketches over there but they are always fun! I also made this for one of the Hope You Can Cling to Challenges where we were challenged to make a card with no sentiment.

EBTKS Sponsored By Paper Maniac

So, I'm completely LATE to the party. I've just been completely drained lately. I should go back to see my doctor. Anyhow, I FINALLY got my EbtKS card done. Paper Maniac is sponsoring this week's Everything But the Kitchen Sink challenge with a $20 gift certificate to the winner! Woohoo! You have ONE DAY left to play!

Ok, so if you're like me, the cards with lots of strips of paper kind of freak you out. I found a way to solve my issue with them! Echo Park Paper crafting kits (as well as Cosmo Cricket) have usually have one page of "borders" in them. Since I'm not a scrapbooker, I don't have use for these borders. Until now! Turn them on their sides and VIOLA, strips of paper! I know, it doesn't take a genius to figure things out but I'm still pretty proud of myself. Also, I cut out one of the journalling blocks and added a sentiment with the stickers also included in the set. I could probably make 50 cards from just one of these crafting kits.
All supplies are Echo Park Paper, Life is Good.

EtsyInspired #111 ~ Stiletto Heights

Hi friends! This week, I'm going to try to keep things really short since I'm feeling rather sick. I know I say that every week so we'll see how short I can keep this.

This week's EtsyInspired Challenge shop is Stiletto Heights. There are just gorgeous art collage prints in this shop! Fabulous! This week's shop is offering up 2 prints of the winner's choice. Also, they are also offering a 20% off discount to our readers and players, just use coupon code Inspired20.

We also have a wonderful sponsor this week! Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps! They are a new stamp company with super cute illustrations. The winner will receive a $15 store credit. Also, all our participants get 10% off by using code 10ETSYIN.

Here's my card inspired by the photo above. It's a bit out of the box for me, but I like it. I used Glimmer Mist to make the background, Ippity's Thoughts From the Past, and Unity's One Precious Life for this card.

Look What I Got!!

Sorry I haven't been blogging much lately. I'm not feeling that great and I've gone in for blood tests but everything they've checked for is coming back normal. Let's see if we can get this figured out.

I have to brag a bit today. Look at this FABULOUS dish mat that I got from the AMAZING Nicole Maki!! (I grabbed this picture off her blog.) Honestly, I'm completely gaga for Nicole! If she were closer, my bestie would have a run for her money. :) Look at how bright and gorgeous this mat is! I just love it! Thanks Nicole!

EtsyInspired #110 ~ Capturing Creativity

This week's EtsyInspired challenge shop is Capturing Creativity. This is soooo exciting since it's our very own Kerry's shop! Isn't that awesome? I love the thought of supporting one of our own design team girls! :)

Kerry's shop is filled not only with handmade cards but card making and scrapbook kits too! Obviously, you know that I like Kerry's card making style since she's on the DT. What you might not know is that Kerry has this AMAZING sense for putting things together in kits! The kit to the left is the one I bought for this week's challenge and let me tell you, it's jam packed with all sorts of goodies! Also, Kerry put together all sorts of yummy papers that I never would have thought to put together.

Not only is Capturing Creativity our shop for this week, but also our sponsor! Kerry has so generously donated TWO prizes! One winner will get an awesome Creativity Kit and another winner will get a chunky accordion album AND a Tinkering Ink stamp set!

I'll let you refer to the EtsyInspired #110 post to link up your creations and read the rules on how to enter.

So, I went a little crazy this week. I joined this challenge with some Unity challenges. Plus, I will be donating these cards to the Caring Hearts Card drive. ALL the patterned papers and embellishments (except the tag) were from the Capturing Creativity kit and I still have a TON left to use.

This first one uses the Card Positioning Systems sketch from this week and the Unity challenge to use a tag.

Here's a card for the challenge to use paint. I stamped the snowflakes in Creative Inspirations Paint in Winter Frost.

And here's a card I made doing the stitching challenge. I have yet to buy a sewing machine so it's faux stitching.

FWF: Shabby Chic

Hi friends! It's Friday, yay! I love Fridays since I have breakfast with my friends and their kids every Friday morning. However, it's only my Thursday but I'll get through it. ;)

Ok, so I know that I'm not the best at shabby chic but I like trying it anyhow. I love looking at other people's beautiful shabby cards! Some day, I'll be able to make things as pretty as the ones I see in my Google Reader. :)

I made this for Natalie's challenge to use distressing on a card. I used inking with the Palette Ippity ink. Then I rolled some of the corners for more interest. The lace I put on the card is vintage.

Altered Notebook

Hi friends! I hope you all are having a great Thursday! We took a trip to CVS this morning and went to the grocery store. I'm kind of spent already. What can you do? The kids are happy at least.

Here's a notebook I made for an altered notebook contest over at The Greeting Farm blog. I didn't win but I still love my notebook so I decided to share with you. :) I don't alter things often. You know, I like the world
inside of my A2 box. But this was a fun one to make. I used a regular composition book. In retrospect, I would have picked on with a brown binding if I had to do this over again. I thought very briefly about painting the binding but I decided against it.

Also, I'm addicted to crinkled ribbon! It's SOOOO fabulous! I used it to make 4 looped bow here. I might need to get my own seam binding so I can make my own. I haven't done that yet.
Here's a close up so you can see the coloring on Flutter Anya. She's one of my very favorite stamps. I think she's pretty sweet. I covered the pink part of the wings with some Stickles.

WCMD Challenges

Hello friends! Happy Wednesday! I don't love Wednesdays, they are my Monday. Granted, we have a short week so I guess I should just be grateful. :) So, my rant goes to woohoo only 4 days until the weekend!

Here are a couple more cards that I made for the Unity/Ippity WCMD challenges. I'm having fun working on these challenges, they are working well for my mojo. :) I wish there were challenges like this all the time!

My first card is for Jimmi's color challenge. I might not have touched on all the colors so I hope it's ok. This main image is a journalling square cut from some patterned paper. I love love love being able to make easy cards! And the tinsel here is from the gift wrap section! My friend Diane gave me a piece. Isn't that fun? I need to get myself some. I'd rather do that then spend lots of $$ on the kind made for scrapping. ;)

I made this next card for Jessica's challenge to use something that soars. I went a little off the normal path and picked a bumble bee. I used the sketch from GetSketchy this week to make this card.

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week or if you're like me, a good work week. :)

Ribbon Fishtail?

Hi friends! I'm late blogging tonight since it's been a really busy day. I hope that you all had a fabulous Tuesday!

This week, I lucked out with TWO challenges to use ribbon! How fun is that?? One is on the Denami blog, the other is on the Unity forum. So, I thought I would try something new. I thought I'd try to do a fishtail (like my aunt used to do with my hair) on this card. I think it's kind of cool. Also, I started the edge on this card thinking I was going to make it "perfect," a nice edge around the label but then I decided that imperfect would give my card some interest. I'm not sure if you all feel the same way, but I thought it added some charm.

Have a wonderful rest of the night everyone! Woohoo GLEE!

EtsyInspired #109 ~ Lemon Kissed

Hi friends! Sorry for the late post, I am not feeling so great.

This week's EtsyInspired shop is Lemon Kissed. This shop makes super duper cute jewelry! I wish I could buy up the whole store! I love the fresh designs and all the fun colors! This week, Lemon Kissed is giving away a pair of mini earrings.

We also have a sponsor this week, Pholkart Blessings and they are giving away some digi stamps. Stop by the EtsyInspired blog to see the rules and to link up your post for a chance to win.

Here's my project based on the earrings above. I also made this for an Unity challenge to make a mini card. The paper is Echo Park and the stamps are Ippity.

EIC Will Be Up in the Morning

Sorry friends! I have no idea what's going on with me but I fell asleep around 5pm and just woke up. I feel pretty bad right now so I'm hoping after I have some dinner and a good night's sleep, I'll feel ok.

FWF: Shaker Card

Hello friends! Welcome to my Friends With Flair post! Hope you guys are having a great week and have a wonderful weekend planned! We have a couple parties to go to.

Here's my card for Lesley's shaker card challenge on the Unity challenge forum. I do NOT usually do technique challenges because well, I'm technique challenged. I figured I should just go big or go home so I made a star. It was actually not too hard. So, yet again I made a birthday card for a kid. What can I say, it's supply and demand.

Don't forget to check out the Unity blog to see everyone participating in today's hop.

No Stamp Card

Hi Friends! I don't have much time and I've not been feeling so great today. I just wanted to throw a quick blog post up. This card was on my Paper Maniac blog post from Monday.

All the elements are from Melissa Frances Kitschy Kitchen. Such a fun line! I distressed with some CTMH ink.

Have a great Thurs everyone!

Anya and Ian

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a a wonderful Wednesday! I started the day off by heading to Target with the kids and trying to get some good deals couponing. It's EXHAUSTING, let me tell you! If you've ever been exasperated with someone in front of you in line for having coupons, I deplore you to give it a try ONCE and I promise you will learn patience for people. And I don't mean clip a couple coupons and save a dollar. I mean, clip store and manufacturer coupons, match them up with sales and try to get things for 50-75% off retail. It's WORK!

Ok, enough of my rant! How about an Anya card? I made this last week loosely based on the Card Positioning Systems sketch but never got around to blogging it. The green paper is cut with Nesties Labels 1 (2 pieces of it) but you can't tell once I layered Anya on their. Sigh... What can you do? Those little swirly bling pieces are Colorbok. I can't find them anymore and I NEED more. If you know of where to get them, please let me know! I love the relatively small size of them, so nice for cards! I used to get them at Joann but mine doesn't sell them anymore.

Next up is a card I featured on the Paper Maniac blog this week. I made this to keep in my stash of kids birthday cards since my kids go to birthday parties ALL the time! And lots of little guys like football, right? I'm also entering this into the Copic Creations challenge this week, the challenge was to color some orange. Ummm, this was a better idea in my head. It kind of looks like Ian plays for team Citrus Fruit or something. :) But bright and happy colors are good for kids, right?

Hope you all have a great day! Hugs!

Thanks for the Support

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a great Tuesday so far! We have nothing planned for today, so hopefully I can make some more cards.

Here's a card I made on WCMD. It uses a sketch that's over at the Ellen Hutson Classroom blog. And for a VERY special challenge on SCS this month. They are hosting challenges everyday for Breast Cancer Awareness. The campaign is called Hope You Can Cling To and you can read about it HERE. I love this idea and will be sending my cards to the Cancer Center that they've selected. Very very cool, SCS! I love it!

Hope you have a fabulous Wednesday and find some time to play along with these challenges for this amazing cause. Ohh, and there are prizes!

Simple Blessings

Happy LATE Sunday, everyone! I just wanted to share a card with you today. I got to make a few cards over the weekend so I'm pretty happy about that. Today, we went over to the Giant Pumpkin Festival in our town. It's starting to feel a little like fall. I'm hoping the 100 degree weather is gone. :)

Ok, here's a card I made for the Limelight Papercrafts sketch from last week. The focus is leaves. I also made this for AJ's Unity challenge on their forum. I had some issues with this card. The flourish didn't show up as much as I would have liked but then I went over part of it with a Copic and now I'm not sure I like it. I do, however, like the Stickles on the the leaves that I filled in. I supposed I could redo this card but I always have the best of intentions when it come to that so I figured I'd just share it and if I make a better one, I'll share that too!

Have a great week everyone!

Clueless Couponer (Post #3)

A couple weeks ago, I mentioned a trip I had taken to CVS that wasn't very successful couponing for me. Well, I was WRONG! :) That's how clueless I am! I spent $12.95 out of pocket and received $11 in Extra Care Bucks (ECB) back. This was my very FIRST trip so I knew I'd have to spend some cash, but I didn't see ALL the ECB I received when I looked at my receipt, I just saw the first one and thought I got $5 back. That made me think it wasn't a very successful trip and that I needed to keep of how many ECBs I'm suppose to earn.

This past week, I tried going to CVS again. This time I wrote a very concise list about what I was going to buy, how many of each item I was going to buy and how many ECBs it was going to earn me. Though a lot of things I wanted to buy weren't in stock I think I managed pretty well. Also, we were running low on toothpaste so I opted to get some on sale with a coupon even though it was a bit more than I would have liked to spend in the future.

Here's what I got:
2 packs Olay facial cleanser wipes (I love these, they are so quick and easy!)
2 boxes of ThermaCare heat wraps (for cramps!)
1 tube Colgate toothpaste

This time I paid $1.95 in cash and got $10 ECBs for next time. Not too shabby.

Happy WCMD!!!

Happy World Card Making Day, everyone! YAY! A holiday just for us! How exciting! Are you here for the Blog Tour?? You can check out everyone's links HERE.

So, you're supposed to do something "special" for World Card Making Day to be on this blog hop. But I just made a card. Is that special enough? I hope so. I mean, that's what the day is called right? ;) Hopefully, I will have LOTS to share with week since my mom is coming over to watch the kids so I can craft! YAY!

Here's my card. I used Unity's One Precious Life for this card. I love love love Melody Ross! I wish I could have everything Melody Ross, if she made bottled air, I'd buy it! The paper is DCWV La Creme stack. I added bling to the crown and tied a little bow.

Have a great Saturday everyone! I hope you get to make cards 'til the cows come home!

EtsyInspired #108 ~ Two Eggplants

Ok friends, I am writing from a friend's house so this is gonna be super short.

This week's EtsyInspired shop is Two Eggplants. They make the most awesome soaps. I love all the fun techy things they have to offer! It's super fun to have a new gift I can give to my husband and even my geek in training son. :) They also have really cool retro soaps. And they make party favors!

This week's sponsor is Pink Cat Studio. They have adorable stamps! The winner will get 5 digi stamps.

I'll let you go over to the EtsyInspired blog to find out how to play and link up your creations.

Here's my creation for this week. It's inspired by these soaps HERE. All the elements are Cosmo Cricket's Garden Variety. The wrinkled ribbon came from my friend Sherry who sells it on her blog.
