TGF Holiday Hop

Hi friends! Are you all excited about TGF Hoppin into the Holidays tonight?? I am! I love me some TGF and I love love love the holidays! :) To check out the list of everyone participating in this hop, please see The Greeting Farm's Blog.

Ok, I decided to participate in one of the challenges that was set for this hop. I did the Let It Snow challenge. I made a Beanie Anya snow globe! :) I think it's a fun way to do snow PLUS that's the only snow I we get here in Northern/Central California. Teehee! I wouldn't even know what to do in the snow!

I colored her up and used some Echo Park paper. I used Stickles to make the snow on this card. I love the sparkle it gives! Also, please excuse the Christmas lights behind my card. My normal picture taking place is being taken over by Christmas decor right now. ETA: I used this week's SFYTT for this card. Gotta give credit where it's due. :)

Happy Hopping everyone! Next on the hop is Nicole.

A Few of My Favorite Things

Here's my blog post from the Paper Maniac blog yesterday :)

Our theme is "My Favorite Things." The DT girls will be showing you their very favorite things from the Paper Maniac store this week! Isn't that fun?!

Now, this theme reminds me of the Sound of Music and the favorite things song. My friend was telling me a mom remade that song and the WHOLE song she said her favorite things are "bedtime and nap time and nap time and bedtime." I thought this was an appropriate thing to share with you since that's when I get to stamp everyday. :)
This card is FULL of my favorite things! I love Christmas! It's my favorite holiday! :) And I adore penguins like THIS ONE from Pink Cat Studio. My favorite thing to color with is myCopics. My favorite embellishment right now is burlap string. And my one of my favorite things is PRESENTS like the ones on this Jillibean Soup Chestnut Soup paper. (A side note about this paper, Patti put it in a bundle pack for you so you can try all the different designs, isn't that awesome?) I used this week's Card Positioning Systems sketch for this card.

Also, did you see this week's Deal of the Week section?! The deals are incredible! There are Nesties, stamps, paper, Sizzix folders, etc...

Ippity Christmas

Hi friends! Happy (I guess) Monday! :) I hope you all had a great weekend! I was sick. Still am. I'll probably head to the doctor today.

Here's a quick card I made while I was at my friend Diane's house last week. I love crafting with friends! I went with a nice CAS card since it's kind of rough to take all the accessories and embellishments you need when you are crafting out. But with crafting kits from paper companies, (like this one from Echo Park) make it a lot easier.

Alright, be sure to check out the Ippity blog to see everyone who is on the hop today. Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Sooo Sick!

But I don't want to give up on my NaBloPoMo. I'm hoping this is a cold but this morning when I woke up the room was spinning. NOT a good sign. But hopefully, it will get better REALLY fast as D goes back to work on Tuesday.

Here's a fast card from me. Paper and sticker from Echo Park. Stamp from Ippity. And string from CTMH.

Have a great day everyone!

Mmmmm Soup!

Happy Black Friday, friends! I am not doing any shopping today since Dustin had to work this morning and I have Parker. But maybe I'll hit up some online deals. Not too sure. I would have loved to run out at 4am but that was not in the cards.

Ok, you know what my favorite part about after Thanksgiving is?? Making soup from the turkey bones! Mmmmm! I won't be doing that this year since we didn't make the turkey here but that's why I'm posting this card.

This is a no stamping card. I made this while I was over at my friend Diane's house stamping earlier this week. Well, crafting more like. ;) I got to use some of her fabulous CTMH stuff. The card stock and the ribbon are both CTMH and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this ribbon! So fabby!

Have a great day friends! Be safe if you are out there shopping! PS did you see the sale at Paper Maniac?!?! 18% off with coupon code and TONS of Deal of the Weeks!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Happy Thanksgiving, to all my US friends!! I hope you are all having a fabulous day filled with people you love, food, and joy!

I shared this card on the Paper Maniac blog on Monday and saved it to share here for today. Though this year held lots of ups and downs, today I am VERY thankful for all I have. And I'm really really thankful for all the wonderful friends I've met doing this hobby of mine that fills me with so much joy! :) That's right, I'm thankful for YOU. Yes, YOU, right there reading this!

Flashback Friday: Technique Card

Hi friends! Another post for me today! :) My trip to Target was surprisingly good. I got AMAZING coupon deals! I'm pretty excited! I decided I wanted to go ahead and blog again today. Why I'm not saving this blog for another day, we'll never know.

My bloggy pal Amy runs a once a month challenge called Flashback Friday where the challenge is to post one of your very first cards. The current challenge is issued by yet another one of my bloggy pals and DT mate Stephanie. :) Stephanie challenged folks to blog their first technique card. On top of that, the challenge is being sponsored by yet another one of my bloggy pals, Sherry. She's giving away so YUMMY crinkle ribbon!

My first technique card that appeared on my blog is one with the dahlia fold which I still think makes a pretty classy card. This card is HUGE! I made it for my friend Paula as a thank you for a very generous gift. You can see my original post HERE. I don't know what's wrong with the picture in that post but I found another picture of the card so I posted that. I am shocked that I still think this card is a-ok! :) I cringe at most of my older stuff.

Check out the challenge HERE. Have a great night everyone! I'll be back tomorrow with a Thanksgiving card.

CAS Donut Card

Hi friends! Happy day before Thanksgiving! :) I just ran out of milk so I have to run to the store. GULP! Wish me luck! This is NOT something I was planning on doing! Yikes!

Here's a CAS card I made next week and never got around to blogging or putting up in my gallery. It was for last week's CAS challenge. I'm not sure you can see the score lines on my card but they are there. I actually don't know what occasion is appropriate for a card that says Have a Donut but whatever. I love this set and the donut is so cute with it's Stickle icing.

Have a great day and a fabulous Thanksgiving, friends!

Beanie Anya and PDCC

Hi friends! Hope you are having a great week so far! I went to my friend Diane's house to stamp yesterday and I got FOUR cards done. I'm pretty excited about this! :) I love stamping with friends! If you want to craft with me, get in touch with me if you have Skype and we can have a crafty date!

Here's the first card I made. I pulled out my brand new Beanie Anya from The Greeting Farm and colored her up. I haven't been coloring as much lately. I'd forgotten how much I ADORE using Copics. They are like MAGIC in the way they blend! I made this card for this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge. The colors this week are red, olive, and turquoise. My designer paper has a few more colors than listed, I hope that's ok. The paper is from Echo Park's Everybody Loves Chris
tmas. I love the bright happy colors.

Here is the swatch from this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge. I love these colors!

Have a fabulous Tuesday everyone! And YAY for a short week! :)

Holy moly! I fell asleep really early last night and forgot to blog. Whoops! Sorry friends!

Here's a card I haven't blogged yet but you might have seen in on the Ippity blog a couple weeks ago. I loaded it into the gallery but I haven't shared here yet since I've had so many projects to share. It's just a simple thank you card using some Basic Grey Lemonade. I love this paper! This displays some of my very favorites from this pack! Also, this card uses an SCS sketch from a couple weeks ago.

Check out the Ippity blog to see everyone participating in today's hop. And don't forget to leave comments ALL over since there's a prize hidden on this hop!

CAS Christmas

Hi friends! I hope you are all having a great weekend! Last night, we went out for my friend Nicol's birthday. That was super fun! I'm still a little tired today but we'll see what gets done. I kind of want to decorate the house for Christmas.

So, I made this card for the SCS CAS DT try outs. I didn't make it to the next round. :( But what can you do? I'm a glutton for punishment. I guess this borders on CAS with the super loud designer paper. Maybe I'm just not a CAS designer anymore. However, my recent publications would say otherwise.

Anyhow, have a great rest of the day!

Hello friends! Thanks for coming over to my blog today! It's the Taylored Expressions November Blast From the Past Blog Hop! If you just stumbled in on my blog today, then start off at Taylor's Blog. Should be a fun one! The theme is Autumn/Thankful.

I made a card with the sketch we were given from my friend Sankari Wegman. Her sketches are always a challenge for me but I try. I also only have two Taylored Expressions stamp sets that are allowed to be used for these hops so it's hard. I hope to have more someday! For this card, I used Hangin' Out. This set is super fun and versatile.

Have fun hopping along! And don't forget to leave comments everywhere since someone is going to win a TE stamp set!

This week, Paper Maniac is sponsoring the Wee Memories challenge. The challenge is to dust off your patterned paper. I decided to create a whole scene out of patterned paper. I tried putting a bow on this card but it didn't look good so I just went without. I thought it this a fun fall card.

Torendi Challenge

Hi friends! Here's a card I threw together SUPER quick for the Torendi challenge. I saw that they had NO entries and that makes me totally sad. I can't let a challenge go with no entries! The challenge is to CASE one of the cards on their last blog hop.

I decided to CASE my good friend Jenn. Her card is down below. I had to throw this card super fast since BOTH my kids are currently awake. Yikes! And they won't be napping before the challenge is over. I can't currently find my Torendi products because I haven't fully unpacked my stamp room yet. I know, I'm way behind!
I love love love Jenn's card! What a fun idea! I wish I could find my Torendi rub ons because they are SOOOOOO cute!

Today, I have a card I made for the 7 Kids College Fund challenge. The challenge is to make either a Thanksgiving card or a thank you card. I opted to make a thank you card. I haven't colored in SOOOOO long so please don't make fun of my coloring. I added Stickles to her wings and hair baubles, so that's the sheen you see in the picture.
Have a fabulous day everyone!

Holy smokes! My hubby just pointed out that Thanksgiving is in less than two weeks! When did that happen?!? Crazy!

I made a Thanksgiving card, in honor of Thanksgiving being right around the corner. I used the sketch from this week's The Cat's Pajamas challenge which is a sketch. I decided it would be fun to have some penguins bringing in the yummy food and of course, there has to be AT LEAST two pies at Thanksgiving, right? I really love penguins, so this card really makes me happy!

Have a great rest of your weekend everyone! I hope you are enjoying every minute!!

Tiff is thebomb.com! ;) Ok, that's a saying the young people in my life say. But she is! Check out her awesome giveaway HERE.

FWF and PDCC

Happy Friday everyone!! Wow, I am READY for the weekend! This week has been so much harder than I anticipated. The kids and I are having a really hard time with all the changes that are going on. But tomorrow is the weekend and we'll get to start fresh so let's hope it gets better!

Here's my card for this week. I whipped it up yesterday during nap time. I used the color challenge over at the Play Date Cafe. They were NOT kidding when they call it a challenge! I went through ALL my patterned paper until I could find something that worked and this is what I came up with. I paired the colors with this week's Unity Hip Hop sketch. I really love clean sketches! Even if you don't make a CAS card, it's a great place to start. You can always add embellishments. Also, I want to note that the twine here is white and pink. I'm pretty much addicted to baker's twine right now.

Here's the swatch from the Play Date Cafe if you want to play along. This challenge literally blew my mind, I had no idea how I was going to use all those colors. But I managed. Yay me!

Ok, be sure to check out the Unity blog for everyone participating in today's hop! Have a great weekend everyone!

Here's a card I did last week for a HYCCT challenge. The challenge was to make a birthday card with paper piecing on it. I pulled out my Practicing Creativity Designs stamps and got to work. This card uses the Card Positioning Systems sketch from last week as I made it last week. :D

Fall Thanks

Hi friends! So, day one of our new schedule was harder than I thought it would be. It was a bit rough to eat dinner with no daddy here. I might be able to push dinner back a bit but having it at 7pm when your kids go to bed at 8pm might not be the best idea. Who knows?

Ok, I have a hard to share with you today. As I often do. ;) I thought I would make a thank you card with some nice fall colors. But I couldn't help but put a butterfly on there. There are butterflies in fall, right? I'm not sure. I love this ribbon, I'm not sure where I got it from. I *think* it's May Arts. I'm not sure though but it's super bright and pretty!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Here's a card I made a while ago for Lydia's HYCCT challenge to make a holiday card with lots of pink. I love pink so this wasn't really a challenge for me. I used an SCS sketch from a couple weeks ago for this card.

Grow Your Wings

Hello friends! I'm sitting alone in my house and I'm completely blissful! My family went to my in law's house for dinner and I just wasn't feeling well so I stayed home. I watched some Food Network, looked at some blogs, ate dinner on the couch, and I think I'm going to relax in my bed for a little bit after I write this post.

So, here's a card I made a loooong time ago for a WCMD challenge to stamp on fabric. I choose a bag that a bar of handmade soap came in. I think it turned out pretty well. Maybe darker ink would be nicer.

Hope you all have a great night!

Halloween Pics!

Hello friends! A few people have mentioned that they wanted to see Halloween pictures of the kids and let me tell you, I'm one to oblige. I mean, seriously! A chance to post pictures of my kids? I'm gonna do it.

Ok, so if you remember the kids' Mario Party, you know that Super Mario Brothers is big in our house. Of course, the kids had to be Mario characters. In fact, the whole family was going to go as Mario characters but we ran out of time and money so it was just the kids.

Brady's costume is just bought off the shelf. I was going to piece it together for him but I think that's only cost effective if he was going to wear the pieces again. And I really don't think he'd wear overalls anymore so I went with this costume. It was $19. It did come with a mustache but Brady got into that and kind of messed it up. We figured he'd do better with a drawn on one, so that's what we did. That would be eyeliner.

I did put together Parker's costume. There was a costume for Toad online but it only included the hat and vest so I decided to go a different way. We bought a white shirt and khakis (which he'll wear again and again.) The vest was made by my friend Amy. She's AMAZING! I just bought the felt and the trim and she just MADE UP a pattern! She made this in like 20 minutes and it's WAY better than what I would have gotten in the costume kit.

Now, I have to tell you about the hat. I got it off Etsy from a shop called Jennifer by Design. I was LATE buying this hat since everything on Etsy is handmade. I went to Jennifer's shop and bought a Mario mushroom hat. I figured people would get the point. After I bought it, I asked her if she could leave the eyes off the hat since Parker would be Toad and not a mushroom. She went ABOVE and beyond what I asked for! She reversed the colors so it would be more like Toad's hat. She made bigger dots than her usual. She changed the shape of the beanie so it was more like a mushroom than a skull cap. I think I did a little dance when it arrived! It was BEYOND perfect! So, if you're looking for a hat for your little one, this is the shop to go to!
And because I don't play favorites, here's another picture of Brady. This is at a Halloween party we went to. The mask was at the arts and crafts area. Isn't that sweet?! We had a great time at the party!

Alright, enough of me rambling! Have a great night everyone!

Warm & Toasty

Hi friends! I hope you're having a great week! This last week was our last one before Dustin's schedule changes so we'll see what next week holds for us. :) But we had a pretty good weekend.

Today is day 3 of mine and Carole's using the same set challenge. We are using Unity's Jolly Little Winter, an oldie but a goodie! I made this card for a HYCCT challenge to use pink, make a square card and put additional squares on it. I had a lot of fun with this one. :)

Have a great day and come back tomorrow to see another Unity creation!
