A Vacation!!

Hi friends! I just wanted to pop in really quick this evening to share this deal I got with you.

A little backstory. Dustin and I really wanted to go away for our anniversary next month so we started looking at places to go within driving distance. Our first choice was Monterey but quickly ruled that out because they are having the Sea Otter Classic and everything is already booked. Then, we looked at Napa since we have never been there but found that it was WAY out of our price range. We decided to just stay at home and go out to dinner and a movie. Then today, the Living Social angels sang for us!

We were able to book a 2 night stay in Sonoma in a private cottage for $193! We will be among the Redwoods and breakfast is included! I cannot wait! I am SO excited that we are going away together! I'm excited to go somewhere new and so lovely!

Ok, on the off chance that some of you are in the area and want to go on this same vacation, please purchase it through my link: http://livingsocial.com/deals/31134?ref=personalized-link-box-8998445&rpi=8998445 If 3 other vacations are bought through my link, then we get our vacation for free.

XOXO

Hi friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! We still have a cough going around here but it's getting better. Also, the weather is fabulous so it really helps with our mood plus the kids can go outside which is fabulous!

Ok, so here's a card I forgot to blog. I made this for Card Positioning Systems sketch 208 but forgot to link it up and blog it. What can you do? I made a love card using all elements from My Mind's Eye Love Me Do. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the colors in this collection! Very pretty!

Have a great day friends!

Girly Birthday

Here's the card I posted on the Paper Maniac blog yesterday.

Don't forget, this is the last week of the amazing ribbon sale! 35% off all RIBBON! Also, there are brand new things in the Paper Maniac store including Spellbinders, The Girl's Paperie, and 7 Gypsies; not to mention restocks on Copics and My Mind's Eye. Also, Patti just added a HUGE sale you have to check out!!
Here's my card for this week. I decided to ink up this sweet little girl stamp from Hero Arts. I colored her up with some Copic markers and then die cut the image and the mat with someSpellbinders Nestabilities. I used stickers and my Copic Multiliner to make the sentiment. All the patterned paper and stickers are Echo Park Playground. The flower and bling are from my stash. This card is based on the current Card Patterns sketch.

***I'm blogging on the Paper Maniac blog today, if you would leave me a comment, I would really appreciate it!***

Hi friends! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! We had a very nice weekend and everyone is on the mend from being sick so I hope this week is a better one. :)

I've been doing this CRAZY thing where I stamp just for the fun of stamping. I know, outrageous right? Here's a card I made with my very favorite Wilson Designs Stamps set, Gnomebody Like You. I used my pal Tiff's sketch that you can find HERE. I combined coloring with paper piecing. A nice balance when you don't want to spend all day coloring.
Have a fabulous day everyone! Ohhhh and did you see this: There’s a new challenge blog in town with articles, swaps, interviews, videos, challenges, great prizes and MORE! Check out Lily Pad Cards!

Do You Swagbucks?

Search & Win

Ok friends, remember a while ago I started couponing? I was doing pretty good for a while but I got overwhelmed and took a break. I'm hoping to start up soon. I keep waiting for a small calm point in my life and it's just not coming. Let's up it comes soon!

One of the things I did pick up from the coupon blogs is Swagbucks. Basically, you sign up for Swagbucks and you use their search engine to browse the internet. As you search, you will win points. You can collect your points and trade them in for things like Amazon gift cards, Paypal credits and electronics. There are other things to you can do earn Swagbucks too like watch videos, take surveys, get referrals, etc...

My goal for Swagbucks is to be able to use my Swagbucks to pay for things like birthday presents and Christmas presents. I'm hoping to get enough to do these things. :) In my first week using Swagbucks, I earned over 500 swagbucks which is enough to get a $5 Amazon gift card. Not bad for just searching the internet.

I would LOVE if you would join me. Who doesn't like getting FREE stuff for things they already do? Here is my referral link: http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/HeartHugs

A Card and Some Causes

Hi friends! I hope you are having a great day! My kids are still sick and we are spending yet another day inside. And it's REALLY windy out there! Oy!

Here's yet another reject card. I can't believe I still have more to post! This was based off of sketch 56 for the Go-to Sketches call. I used some Heartfelt Creations stamps for the first time on this one. I hand cut the flowers. I have the dies but I couldn't get it perfect so I figured I'd hand cut this time and practice at a later date. The quote is from Ippity's Delightful Little Things.

A couple other things today:

1. My friend Sparkle is having a fundraiser over at her online store Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps. For every Rin stamp that is purchased through the end of March, she will donate $5 to Japan Disaster Relief. My order is on it's way!

2. My sweet cousin Alexa is participating in an event on April 25, it's 25 hours of silence to support The Invisible Children Protection Plan. She only needs $20 to reach her fundraising goal. This is the first time she's ever participated in a cause like this and I'm SO proud of her. I strongly believe in giving back whenever I can. So, HERE is her donation page. If you can donate even $1, I would be so grateful! I would love for her to at least meet her goal on the first time out.

Card Details:
Cardstock: cream
Patterned Paper: Basic Grey Hopscotch
Stamps: Ippity Delightful Little Things, Heartfelt Creations Posies
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Misc: Martha Stewart border punch

Taylored Expressions Blog Hop: Spring

Hi friends! Hope you are having a great week so far! Thanks for stopping by my blog today for the Taylored Expressions Blog Hop! The theme for this blog hop is "Spring." I'm so ready for spring! I love this season even though it's very short in Northern California.

We were also given the chance to work with a sketch from Sankari. Her sketches are always a challenge for me since there are tons of layers and she makes the most beautiful and intricate cards. But I love to give things a try so I went ahead with it. I like how it turned out!

Here's my card using the sketch and two of my three Taylored Expressions stamp sets. The sentiment is from The Places You'll Go stamp set. It's one of the reasons I bought this set. I LOVE this sentiment! The images (onesies and bird) are from Hangin' Out which is one of the most versatile sets I own. I love that I can use it for a variety of different things!

Have a great day everyone and enjoy the rest of the hop!

Card Details:
Cardstock: white, pink
Patterned Paper: Echo Park Little Girl
Stamps: Taylored Expressions The Places You'll Go, Taylored Expressions Hangin' Out
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Misc: Orange Divine Twine, Marvy punch, Orange Appeal and Yellow Stickles

Nikki Sivils Summer

At CHA, I got to meet Julie Tucker-Wolek who does some blogging for Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker. She was so sweet and gave me some fun papers to work with. I decided to play with the Summer line first. Here are the cards I came up with.

Here's a card with the Summer papers and some sheer ribbon and Stickles.
Summer papers and some Lemon Divine Twine.
Summer papers with some ribbon and an SRM Sticker

MME Thanks Card

Here's the card I posted over at Paper Maniac yesterday.
I just got a new package from Paper Maniac this weekend and pulled out my new My Mind's Eye right away. I LOVE this line! I got the Hazel collection and it's gorgeous! I also got my first My Mind's Eye stamp set, Gertie stamps, and I LOVE them! They stamp like a dream and they are SO cost effective! I finished with some May Arts string and a Unity sentiment stamped inMemento ink.

Have a great week everyone!

Lawnscaping Challenge 6

Hi friends! I hope you had a great weekend! We are having breakfast with a few friends from out of town today and I'm pretty excited about that! It will be a lovely way to wrap up this weekend as hubby is off work.

We are kicking off the week right with a Lawnscaping challenge! Woohoo! And I LOVE this one! Challenge #6 is COLOR SPLASH! You can make any project (using Lawn Fawn stamps, of course) with all neutrals and then one POP of color. How fun is that? I have a hard time with color challenges but this is the one kind that I actually really love.

Here's my card for this challenge. I decided to go with a splash of pink. Again, I went straight to Judy's Blooms for this challenge. I think this set is very versatile. I, actually, don't have a sentiment or alphabet set from Lawn Fawn so I went to my Hats Off to You set and grabbed my Thanksgiving sentiment and masked it off to make a thank you card. I will be donating this card to Stephen's Card Drive for the troops. I used this week's Card Patterns sketch 107 for this card.

Check out the DT:

Card Details:
Cardstock: white
Patterned Paper: Echo Park Be Mine
Stamps: Lawn Fawn Judy's Blooms, Lawn Fawn Hats Off to You
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Colorbox white
Misc: Martha Stewart punch, seam binding

Gnomes Abound!

Hi friends! I hope you are having a good weekend! Yesterday, we had a relaxed day. We ran some errands and had lunch then spent the rest of the day at home just hanging out. It's WINDY out there! I'm hoping the trees all make it intact out of this storm!

I got my order from Wilson's Designs Stamps this week for their new release, Gnomebody Like You. This is one of my favorite sets so far! I LOVE LOVE LOVE all the puns! :D They make me happy!

My first card was made for Jen del Muro's SFYTT for March. The strips of paper were a bit intimidating at first but I think they turned out quite fun. I used Basic Grey's Max and Whiskers for this card. Even though this line is geared toward pets, I think the woodsy color scheme goes perfectly with this stamp set. And a little inking of the edges which I neglect to do sometimes.

Then I decided to give some love the the girl gnome in this set and make a little girlfriends card. This card uses the SCS sketch that was posted last Wednesday. Again, I pulled out some woodsy papers to go with these fun gnomes. This paper is Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg. I really need to pull out older papers more often. I get pretty caught up in the new stuff.

Have a great rest of the weekend, everyone!

Card Details:

Hangin with my Gnomies:
Cardstock: Kraft
Patterned Paper: Basic Grey Max and Whiskers
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Rich Cocoa
Misc: Copics, Fiskars border punch, May Arts burlap string

Lawnscaping/Wee Memories Co-Challenge!

How fun is this?!? We have a special challenge for you this week! Lawnscaping is teaming up with Wee Memories for a challenge sponsored by Lawn Fawn Stamps! Woohoo! This week's theme is "Cute and Cuddly" which might be the easier theme on the face of the earth for me! ;)

And here's the BEST thing about the co-challenge, there are TWO prizes and in entering, you automatically get two chances to win. How cool is that? Lawnscaping is offering up Critters in the Forest as a prize this week and Wee Memories is being sponsored by Lawn Fawn and you can pick a set if you win over there.

Here's my card for this challenge using this week's Mojo Monday sketch. Of course, I had to use my favorite doggy stamp for the Cute and Cuddly challenge. This little guy is from Critters in the Burbs.

And here's the Lawnscaping Team for more inspiration:
Cardstock: white
Patterned Paper: Basic Grey Max and Whiskers
Stamps: Lawn Fawn Critters in the Burbs
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Misc: Nesties Beaded Oval, crinkle ribbon, Copic marker, gel pen

EtsyInspired #131 ~ DollBirdies

This week's EtsyInspired shop is DollBirdies. They make the cutest bags in a variety of really bright and fun patterns. I really could spend all my money in this shop! They have purses, diaper bags, wristlets, camera bags, wallets, plush toys, bibs, and so much more. I'm rather in love this this shop! This is where I'll be going for baby shower gifts from now on. This week, Dollbirdies is offering up a passport wallet to one lucky winner. You could also use this cute little piece to store business cards, ID and cash for going out, or even a cute little notepad for making notes in.

This week, we have SRM Stickers sponsoring! Woohoo! I love their products! They are giving away a sticker prize pack to one lucky winner! Here's a little blurb from SRM: SRM Stickers are widely use by many papercrafters and it has a blog every weekday with paper crafting projects using stickers! Bookmark, follow the SRM Blog as you don't want to miss a tutorial, feature, challenge, or giveaway!

Here's my card for this week inspired by the purse above. I used an SRM sticker on this card, love them!

FWF: Love Life

Hi friends! YAY for the weekend! I hope that Friday will go by quickly! We don't have too much going on this weekend so that will be nice. Hope you all get a chance to relax too!

This is a super simple to make card but I think it's so lovely. The paper is just gorgeous, Webster's Pages, and it just does all the work for you! Then you have the beautiful stamp that is subtle yet very decorative. I made this for the Go To Sketches call using sketch 22 but it wasn't accepted.

Have a great weekend everyone! And don't forget to check out the Unity Blog to see all the people participating in this week's blog hop. Also, check out Sav's blog since she's next on the hop! LOVE THAT!

I'm just writing a quick post to put up my Card Positioning Systems card for this week. I made this SUPER quick out of some Basic Grey Curio paper. I had this vision for this paper and it really just came together so fast. My friend Taylor made a card similar to this so I had it in my mind when I made this. You can see her card HERE.

Have a great day friends! I have lots of posts coming up so please stay tuned!

Some Sketches With For the Record

Hi friends! Sorry I'm late to blog today! First thing this morning, we had to take Brady to the doctor. Turns out he had an ear infection. Then we had friends over to play for most of the day. After that, I crafted a little and made dinner.

Today, I'm gonna blog TWO cards! Wow! It's like I have mojo or something! I got inspired by some Echo Park For the Record. I decided to try out some of the sketch challenges with this fabby line. I'm also entering this in the typewriter challenge for the Gingersnap Creations blog.

This first card is for the GetSketchy sketch this week. I used For the Record papers, sticker, and cut out the sentiment from the page they offer with the journalling spots on it. The buttons are from the $1 bin at Michael's and the string is May Arts.
The next card is for a sketch from my friend Tiff. This is her sketch #11 and you can find it HERE. This time, I added some fun May Arts ribbon and a Unity sentiment to my card. I LOVE this sketch from Tiff! It really inspired me!

Hope you have a fabulous day friends!

MME Challenge 21

Hi friends! I'm back again so soon because I wanted to post this card to enter it in the challenge over on the My Mind's Eye blog. It doesn't end until tomorrow but I was afraid that I would forget.

So, here's my card based on their latest sketch. All the products are from My Mind's Eye Love Me Do. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the colors in this collection! The theme for this sketch is "Celebrate Today" but I figured love is supposed to be celebrated everyday so I went with that. :D

Have a great day!

Birthday Train: Choo Choo!!

Hi friends! I hope you are having a great day and an even better week. I'm glad it's already Wednesday! I'm looking forward to the weekend! It can't seem to come fast enough these days!

Today, I'm blogging a card I made for the All Things Unity challenge which is birthday theme cards. You can check out this challenge out RIGHT HERE, it's challenge #26. I'm not guest designing anymore so I get to actually play along. The prize this time is some Jillibean Soup.

Here's my card. I used some Echo Park Little Boy and the the matching stamps from Unity. I pulled out the old markers I used before I had Copics and used them as stamp markers. Each train car is a different color though it's hard to tell in the picture.

Have a great day everyone!

Flashback Friday 9.0

Hi there friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! We are doing what we can, you know how it is. :)

I decided to play along with the Flashback Friday challenge for this month. The challenge is to post the first card you made with a window cut in the front. I hope this card counts, it's a pop up card. I didn't find ANY cards with regular windows cut out of them. Can you believe it? HERE is the original post. This card was made for Dustin from Brady for the first REAL Father's Day. I saw "real" Father's Day because I went into labor with Brady on Father's Day but he was not born until the day after.

It's actually a lot of fun looking back at all my old cards. You should try it! Have a great week everyone!

Sweet Love

Here's the card I posted on the Paper Maniac Blog yesterday.

Here's my card for this week. It's made based on the Unity Hip Hop sketch. I thought it would be a lovely way to show off these fabulous Echo Park Be Mine papers. I love love love this paper! It's just so pretty and romantic. I paired it with some Unity and Echo Park stamps. I stamped it in Memento Ink, which is my favorite! And I finished with some Stickles and some hand dyed crinkle ribbon.

Have a great week everyone! :D

Ippity Hop: Witch Hat

***I'm blogging on the Paper Maniac blog today too with some Unity goodness, if you would leave me a comment on that post as well, I'd really appreciate it!***

Hi friends! I hope you all had a great weekend! We had a fun one! Lots of parties to go to. And I think it's just the beginning of the birthday party season.

I'm joining the Ippity Hop this week with a little Halloween card. I made this quite some time ago for a publication call but it didn't make it. I've decided to not submit it again but that just means it's more to put on the blog! :D This is all stuff from my stash pretty much.

Have a wonderful week, friends! Don't forget to check out the Ippity Blog to see everyone who will be in this week's hop.

Tiff Sketch 10

***If you are looking for my Butterfly Blog Linky Party post, please scroll down***

Hi friends! I hope you are wrapping up a wonderful weekend! We had a lovely day today. We went to a birthday party and then I went out with one of my best friends. I'm finishing the day working on the latest Paper Crafts Mag call. Wish me luck, I've never been in a regular issue of Paper Crafts, only special issues.

I wanted to quickly blog this card based on my friend Tiff's sketch #10. I was having a bit of trouble with my mojo earlier this week, so I decided to grab a sketch (Tiff's sketches are super fun to work with!) and grab some paper I haven't used yet and go to town. This is what I came up with. This card (except for the card base) is all Doodlebug Designs products.

Have a great day everyone!

Butterfly Blog Hop

Hi friends! I hope you are having a fabulous weekend! I'm so glad you joined me today! My friend Eva Dobilas is hosting a fun Butterfly Blog Linky Party! Isn't that a fun idea? There are so many of us that LOVE butterflies, this will be such a lovely way to welcome spring! What you want to do is go over to Eva's blog and check out all the lovely creations that have been linked over there.
I went with a rather clean and simple card today. I'm a little worn out from working on calls and having a very busy weekend. It turned out a lot like I had imagined so I'm pretty happy with it. I'm rather in love with cream/beige card stock these days. I think I'm becoming more vintage by the moment.

Have a wonderful day and enjoy the butterfly blog linky party!

This week's EtsyInspired shop is Artwork by Lori. This shop has lovely paintings and prints. She also has a couple other shops Hip Heart where she has fun graphic design prints and The Royal Bead where she sells beautiful jewelry and hair accessories. I chose to focus on Artwork by Lori which is the shop that first caught our attention at EIC. This shop is filled with modern paintings and prints. There are paintings of nature, characters, geographic shapes, animals and more. The art is fun and very fresh! I think you all will enjoy it very much! This week, Artwork by Lori is offering up a print of the winner's choice (valued up to $14.)

Squeeze Me

Hi friends!!! Happy Friday! I could not be more excited for the week even though this week went by pretty fast. We've got a couple things planned for this weekend. Should be a fun one!

This card is a reject from a recent Paper Crafts call. This is sketch #7. I kind of love this card. It uses Unity/Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety and the Garden Variety paper. Just a fun CAS card. Though this card makes me kind of sad because tomatoes are so expensive right now and Brady just loves them!

Have a great day everyone!

Circus Life

Hi friends! I hope you had a wonderful Thursday! I've been busy today. We had some friends over for lunch and it was a lovely time! Then I got to read a little and I got to craft a bit during nap time.

So, here's yet another reject card for the Paper Crafts Go To Sketches call. This card is based on sketch #8. I didn't follow the mosaic exactly so maybe that's why this didn't get picked up? Who knows? This is the new GCD Fun House line that I got a sample of at CHA. How cool is that? (I'm gonna be product testing over at the GCD blog soon so stay tuned for that!) The sticker is SRM.

Have a wonderful night everyone! See ya soon!

Fun News and a Call!

Hi friends! I hope you are all having a great day! I'm pretty excited about today, I'm going to the doctor to get a CPAP adjusted for my sleep apnea. I'm hoping getting a restful night of sleep will give me more energy and more time to create since I won't be so tired all the time.

I do have an announcement! From now on, I'll be writing the Product Review article for Through the Craftroom Door Magazine. This is kind of like a dream come true for me. When I was in college, I majored in journalism but then got side tracked when I decided I wanted to work with children with special needs. So, this is a little like coming home. I am going to be a PUBLISHED writer in a magazine. It's rather amazing! :D To see my article and lots of amazing projects, articles, and tutorials; subscribe to Through the Craftroom Door. I've heard that late this summer, you will be able to purchase back issues individually in limited supply too.

And since we are on the subject of TTCR, I wanted to fill you in on the next call for the May/June issue:
Themes:
~Parents
~Travel/Bon Voyage
~Graduation Gift
~Mad about 3-D

There is also a sketch. More info can be found right HERE. While you are over there, join the TTCD Ning site. There will be lots of cool stuff over there including games, contests, prizes, tutorials, product review and more.

Girly Birthday

Hi friends! I hope you are having a great day! We are enjoying the sunshine today so it's a very nice day! :D

Here's another reject card from the recent Paper Crafts call. This was for sketch 42. I think the sentiment is too hard to see and I should have re-thought that if I wanted to see this published. Anyhow, here it is.

Did you know that my friend Kim Wilson has her own stamp company? I met Kim at CHA last year and she's the sweetest! She owns Wilson Designs Stamps and they are having a new release right now that I'm super excited about. This silhouette and frame come from her stamp set, Simply Silhouettes. Aren't they gorgeous?!

Have a great day everyone!

Ruff Day?

Here's the card I posted for yesterday post over at the Paper Maniac blog. Did you see the new March special?!? 35% off on ALL ribbon! Plus there's new CHA stuff coming in every couple days. Swoon!

Here's a card I made for you all this week because I know that sometimes we all get a case of the Mondays. ;) I made this card using Unity I Ruff You. And the paper is the adorable Basic Grey Max and Whiskers. I covered the cute little pup in Sparkly Fluff.
Have a great day everyone!

Lawnscaping Challenge 5

***If you are here for my Ippity post, please scroll down***

Hi friends! Welcome to yet another super fun Lawnscaping Challenge! I'm so excited! We are getting a wonderful amount of players and I hope you all keep joining us! There are so many wonderful prizes as well! The team is so generous!

This challenge (#5) is to use a stamp in an unconventional way. I had a really hard time with this challenge since I usually buy very general stamps that I can use a lot. On a whim, I decided to pick up Swimsuit Season at the Limelight closing sale so I decided to play with that.

So, here's my card. I thought that it would make a fun and slightly sassy Valentine's Day card.
Check out the DT:

Ippity Hop: Welcome Home

Hi friends! Happy Monday! It's been a really long time since I've done the Ippity Hop. How fun is this?

Here's yet another Paper Crafts reject. This was for sketch #10. I thought it looked like a door. I don't think I was the only one. Anyhow, I busted out some real wood paper for my door. Ippity House a Home set was perfect for this card, don't you think? I just finished it with a little brad doorknob.

Hope you all have a great day! Be sure to check out the Ippity Blog to see what everyone has created!
