CAS Cards with Tape

Here's the post I did for the Love My Tapes Blog last Wednesday.

Hi friends! It's Ashley here to share some projects with you today. I wanted to show how a few strips of tape is really all you need for a card. Easy peasy and it really gives a lot of pretty details to the cards.

My first card uses our awesome Fabric Tapes! I used Brown Stripe tape, Baylee tape, and Jane tape. I cut the butterfly out of one of our canvas sheets. The stamp is from Unity Stamp Co.
My second card uses dark pink, 15 MM beige, and and 17 MM beige lace tapes. The teddy bear is from a Love My Tapes canvas sheet and the sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co.
Have a great day!

Say Cheese Layout

Hi friends! I hope you are doing well! We had a very lazy day on Tuesday so I have lots of running around to do today after I get Brady off to school.

This weekend I went to a crop and my pal Ginger challenged me to a Throw Down! Since I'm a card maker and she normally makes mini albums, we decided to have a 12x12 layout Throw Down. We had one hour to create a layout. I have to say I lost because I didn't finish in the hour. I added the title and some embellishments AFTER the hour was up.
My layout features some Amy Tangerine paper from American Crafts. I LOVE this line! It's really cute and fresh and I really enjoy using it! I've made a couple cards and this is the first layout that I've done. All the elements are from this line other than the Tattered Angels Sapphire mist and a few staples from my Tiny Attacher. I think spending all this time with scrappers might be influencing me too much! ;)

Have a great day everyone!

Fun Announcement!

****For my Ribbon Carousel Challenge post, please scroll down!****

Eeeeeeek! Did you see THIS POST?!? I get to guest design for Your Next Stamp for the month of September! I'm so excited! I've been a fan since the very beginning and I got to meet Karen at CHA-W and she's super nice! I LOVE supporting companies who are just kind and wonderful!
Here's the card I made to be posted on the Your Next Stamp Blog today. :D Miya from China is my FAVORITE Your Next Stamp! I love that YNS offers a World Kids collection! It is awesome to see all different ethnicities being represented in stamps! I colored Miya with Copics and added a couple different color Stickles to make a color that matched the patterned paper. The paper is Imaginisce Garden Party.

Have a great day everyone!

RCC18 All Tied Up

Hi friends! I hope you are having a good week so far! We are doing pretty good over here. Busy weekend with lots of friends so it was lovely! Brady had the day off school on Monday so our weekend just kept on going. :)

We have a super fun challenge kicking off today on the Ribbon Carousel Challenge blog! The theme is All Tied Up and all you have to do is use more than one spool item on your creation such as ribbon, trim, lace, twine, etc... This is super easy! I can't wait to see your creations!

This week, the sponsor is There She Goes Clear Stamps. I just got the pleasure of working with these stamps and I love them! Great quality and adorable designs! The prize this week is a $25 gift certificate to the There She Goes shop! Woohoo!

Here's my card for this week. I used Sentimental Birthday from There She Goes. For my TWO spool elements I used Celery Satin Grosgrain Ribbon and Fuchsia/Parrot Green Center Stitched Ribbon. The paper is Basic Grey Indie Bloom.
Have a great day everyone and be sure to check out the Ribbon Carousel Challenge Blog for all the DT creations and to link up your own creation!

Guess Who?

Hi friends! I hope you had a great weekend! Brady's school has a teacher inservice day today so he doesn't have school. The kids have a play date though so that will be fun. Ohh and Brady went to his first party of someone in his class this weekend. I didn't go, but Dustin did. I'm very excited that he's making friends!
Guess what?? Lawnscaping has a super fun game for you today! Since this month has five weeks, we have a special game for you today! How awesome is that?! There's a game over on the Lawnscaping Blog where you can win a prize for guessing which team member made which card. Go over there and have fun! Good luck!

You're Purrr-Fect

Hi friends! I hope you all are having a great weekend! We are still in the midst of ours. More fun stuff with the family tomorrow. :)
Here's a card I made a while back. I have no idea why or when. Teehee! But it's Paper Smooches and CUTE! :D The paper is from Kaisercraft and I used Lemon Divine Twine on it.

Have a great day everyone!

Key to My Heart

Hi friends! I hope you are having a great weekend! I went to the neurologist on Friday and she has given me a plan of treatment for what she thinks might be causing my migraines and other issues. The GREAT news I got is that I don't have MS! YAY! My doctor was concerned about that and it's good to know that I don't have that. Yesterday, I went to a crop with a bunch of my girlfriends to celebrate!

Today, I'm showing a card I made earlier this week. I made this for two challenges: Shop Our Stash (to use red or ribbon or roses) and Forgotten Stamp Friday 31. I shopped my stash for the stamps (obviously, I haven't used them and I've had them for probably 1.5 years) and these pearls. I decided to make a card with red, ribbon and roses. The stamps are from Practicing Creativity, the paper is Colorbok Flea Market, and the ribbon is Ivory Lace from Ribbon Carousel.
Ohhhh! Ribbon Carousel is having a sale! You have to check it out! There are all sorts of yummy trims, ribbons, etc... on sale and you can get your Ribbon Carousel 20% off! But HURRY! Sale ends tonight at 11:59pm!

Have a great day friends!

A Couple Journey Cards

Hi friends! Happy Friday! I hope you all had a good week! We had a particularly good drop off today! Brady just looked at me and said "Bye Mom, see you later!" I love that kid! He also told me he made a new friend named Myles! YAY!

Recently, I tried out for the Authentique design team and didn't make it. That was a REAL bummer. I bought a whole bunch of their stuff but I'll continue to use it because it's really quite lovely. Here are a couple cards I made with their Journey line.

This first one uses a My Mind's Eye stamp and some seam binding.
My next card just has a couple buttons and a bow with a pearl on it.
Have a great day everyone!

Sketch Cards with Paper Smooches

Hi friends! It's me again! ;) I just wanted to blog a couple cards I made for some sketch challenges this week so that I can enter them. I always forget and then I get sad.

My first card uses the Card Positioning Systems sketch from this week, sketch 232. I used Basic Grey Oxford paper and sticker for this and a sentiment from the Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler.
My second card is for this week's Card Patterns sketch, sketch number 129. I used Echo Park Playground and Paper Smooches Chubby Chums for this card.
Have a great day, friends!

A Card for Olivia

Hi friends! I hope you are having a great day! It's almost the weekend! Woohoo! I can't wait!

Today, I'm sharing a card I made for the Cards for Olivia card drive. I saw this on Facebook and some other blogs and I really wanted to send a card. Olivia was supposed to be starting kindergarten this month but instead, they founds a brain tumor and she had to have surgery. She's not that much older than one of my kids and that makes me SO sad! I'm hoping this card will brighten her day a little.
For this card, I'm playing along with Jessie's Forgotten Stamp Friday. The premise of the challenge is to use a stamp that you haven't inked in at least 6 months. I have a BUNCH of those. Actually, this set had never been inked and I've had it for a long time. It's from Hero Arts. I used some My Little Shoebox paper for this. Honestly, it doesn't feel like a card I made at all. I don't know why. Oh well, it's going out in the mail and that's all that matters!

Have a great day everyone!

Parker's First Bday Layout

Here's my post from the Love My Tapes blog from last week.
I'm sharing a layout with you all today but don't get used to it! ;) I'm a card girl at heart. I made this layout of my youngest son. These are the pictures we took for his first birthday. Awwww, I miss the "babyness." I used the 19 MM white lace tape and the 21 MM white lace tape on this. I broke those up by using the Striped Fabric Tape in both red and blue. The paper is from Echo Park's Little Boy, the big letters are Thickers and the little alpha stickers are from My Little Shoebox.

Have a great day everyone! You can go HERE to check out my post from this week.

My First "Real" Issue of Paper Crafts

Hi friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! We got to spend a fun day with one of our favorite families yesterday so it was VERY fun. The kids had a great time and we took some cute pictures. Too bad I only had my iPhone.

Ok, so I'm sure many of you have already seen this awesome magazine to the left. It's the Sept/Oct 2011 issue of Paper Crafts. It's an EXCITING one for me because this is the first "real" issue of Paper Crafts I've been published in. Until now, it was all special issues like Stamp It or Card Creations. It's kind of a big deal to me. I don't really know why.

Here's the card I have in this issue. For instructions and product list, please buy the magazine HERE.
Have a great day, everyone!

RCC17 Back to School!

Hi friends! Hope you are having a great week so far! We are doing really good. Brady has now adapted to school with the help of a little girl from his class and I'm ECSTATIC! Thank goodness for adorable 4 year old girls! She truly is just a blessing to us!

I'm off this week for Ribbon Carousel Challenge but I decided to play along anyhow. It's a very fun one and it's sponsored by Ribbon Carousel. And you know how I LOVE the Ribbon Carousel! You have a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to The Ribbon Carousel Store. The challenge this week is Back to School. Remember, when you play along with Ribbon Carousel Challenge, you must use ribbon, trim, twine, etc... on your creation.

Here's my card for this week. I used Orange Divine Twine for my spool element. All the paper is Imaginsce.
Ohhh, and there's a BONUS challenge for another $10 gift certificate, check out the RCC17 post for details on that and to check out all the creations from the awesome design team.

Love Hearing From You

Hi friends! I hope you are having a great week! I spent today chatting and crafting with my friend Marie Ramirez and I had a great time! It's just what the doctor ordered! Honestly, a day with a friend is just the best, isn't it?

I actually have a ton of cards to blog since I've been having so many crafty dates with my friends and I usually get a few cards/projects done at a time. Perhaps I should start blogging a couple cards a day. Wouldn't that be fancy? ;)
Here's a card I made a couple weeks ago at my friend Gina's house. I borrowed one of her Hero Arts stamp sets for this card. I do love this set, I might have to buy it! The paper is from Colorbok Flea Market.

Have a great day everyone!

I Like Ewe!

Hi friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Sunday! We had a busy day! We had brunch with close friends of ours who are Parker's Godparents. They are visiting from Southern California and sadly, that's the only time we got to see them this summer. Then we went to the Bay Area Discovery Museum if you have young children, this is a MUST! It was SO fun! We got there 3 hours before they closed and didn't even get to do everything before we had to leave. I would plan on spending the WHOLE day there and just pack a lunch! Then we had dinner at Amici's (pizza) and ice cream at Fenton's (a bay area favorite, you might know it from the movie UP.)

I just wanted to show a project today. I've seen quite a few pixie stick holders done before but I thought "Make it flat, add ribbon and turn it into a bookmark!" Honestly, I spend SO much time on these projects and it kills me to just see them thrown away. I thought if it was versatile, like a bookmark, a child might keep it and use it. :) I still need to do a tutorial on this. Seriously, I NEED a new iPhone. Mine doesn't do video.
Here's my project. I used my Lawn Fawn Critters on the Farm set, super cute! I think this set is really versatile. I paired it with some Bo Bunny paper. This would be great for Valentine's. That's what I meant it for, but if you changed up the paper, it would be a REALLY fun party favor for a farm birthday party.

Have a great day!

Holy Crap! I Scrapped!

Yes, I really do amuse myself with the titles of my posts sometimes. Seriously, if I don't amuse myself, who will?

A week ago, a good friend of mine moved across the country. I'm still pretty sad about this but we have Skype and email and text messages, I think we'll make it through. :) Kimberly and I met through her sister in law, Karen. However, Kimberly and I connected because she's a scrapbooker and I'm a stamper. For her going away gift, she wanted everyone to make her a scrapbook page and put our addresses on the back so she could keep in touch with us. Me? Scrapbook? Sigh...

I made 2 layouts. One of just Kim and I since we have had our fair share of girls nights. I had an unopened crafting kit from Crate Paper that I decided to use because it is just so pretty. The collection is called Blue Hill. I added some Love My Tapes fabric and lace tapes to this. I also added bling to the flowers and a little pink burlap string. Other than that, all the elements are from the Blue Hill crafting kit.
Here's another layout I did with a picture of my whole family. Ok, so Brady's a little cut off. It was the best I could do on short notice. We don't have a picture of the 4 of us together since Christmas. I used Echo Park's Playground for this layout. I added a little trim and wrote our names and that is that.
Have a great night everyone!

FWF: Glitter Snowflake

Hi friends! Hope you are having a great week! We had a good drop off on Wednesday, finally. Let's hope today is the same! :)

Today is Friday and I've decided to participate in Friends With Flair with my pals over at Unity Stamp Co. I made this card a while ago for a call but it wasn't picked up. The stamp is from Christmas Bough (the sentiment.) The snowflake and flag are Spellbinders dies and the paper is from Echo Park.
Have a great day everyone! Be sure to go to the FWF post on the Unity Blog to see everyone participating in today's hop! Leave comments all along the way because there's candy hidden! Have a great weekend!

Love My Tapes Vintage Cards

Here's my post from the Love My Tapes Blog from last Wednesday. :)

On my first card I used a TON of Love My Tapes products! The main image is from one of our Canvas Sheets. I used the 19mm white lace tape for this. The lace tapes are SOOO easy to use, they already have adhesive on the back so all you have to do is trim them and stick them on! It's a dream! I also added the Jane and Pink Striped fabric tape. I layered these things with some Webster's Pages paper and a Unity Stamp sentiment.
Here's another card using our canvas sheets for the main image and the sentiment. I also used some lace tape for this. The paper is from Echo Park Be Mine and I added a doily.
Have a great day!

RCC16 Sketch Time

Hi friends! I hope you are having a great day! Brady didn't go to school yesterday so I have nothing to report on that front. He's a bit sick but I'm going to send him back on Wednesday. Hopefully, we didn't set him back too far but what can you do? When you're sick, you're sick, right?

Ok, today I have a FUN challenge to share with you for the Ribbon Carousel Challenge. It's a sketch from the amazing Danielle Lounds. Sketch challenges are my favorite. I don't make that a secret. I love them! And Danielle's sketches are always perfect for me because she keeps it pretty clean. Remember, when you play along with the Ribbon Carousel Challenge, you need to use ribbon, trim, twine, or something that comes on a spool on your creation!

We have a WONDERFUL sponsor for you this week! Amber Ink! I have to tell you, I get to work with some AMAZING people in this industry however Amber Ink is just superb! They are truly one of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Combine that with their cute stamps and awesome digi paper and you just can't lose. This week, they are giving away a $15 gift certificate to the store.

Here's my card for this week, I rotated the sketch. I used my Amber Ink Can I Keep Him set. This card got an "Awww!" from my husband. I'm just saying, this little mermaid is CUTE! I used some Navy Swiss Dot ribbon on my card. The paper is from My Mind's Eye and I colored this with Copics and added Stickles.
Check out the Ribbon Carousel Challenge Blog to check out all the design team's work and to link up your creation!

Lawnscaping Challenge 16

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you all had a great weekend. I think Brady has a cold, at the very least he has a bad cough so he might not be going to school today. Let's hope that doesn't set us back! ACK!

Ok, today is the third Monday of August and that means it's time for a new Lawnscaping Challenge. This time, the theme is One Layer Magic. (HANGS HEAD IN SHAME) I cheated on my card. :( I thought we were restricted to one layer of card stock and could use patterned paper but now that I'm reading the badge, it says one layer of paper. Sorry friends! Please forgive me!

Our sponsor for this challenge is JBS Mercantile, you know by Jenni Bowlin. I LOVE JBS! The products are all so fabulous! The winner for this challenge will win a JBS Mercantile prize pack of goodies. I'm rather jealous! :)

Here's my (CHEATING) card for this challenge. I used Lawn Fawn's Judy's Blooms and Sophie's Sentiments. I used Jenni Bowlin for Ranger ink in Malted Milk. The paper I used is Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden. I finished with some Liquid Pearls.

Check out the DT:

A School Pic and a Card

Hi friends! I hope you all had a great weekend! I was at an all day crop yesterday so I didn't get a chance to blog. I made a few cards so I'll share those soon.

Here's a much promised picture of my Brady on his first day of school. It's the ONLY good one I got. This kid did not want to cooperate with me. What can do you do? I took a couple on his second day of school but I have yet to look at them.

Ok, so school isn't going so well. Check that. Drop off isn't going so well. School is going FINE. When I come to pick him up, he's all smiles and his teacher/teacher aids say that he does great. He just DOES NOT want to go to school or be left there. That drop off just overshadows all the good parts of the day where he plays, makes art, sings, has recess, and eats a snack. I have no idea why that part is so hard for him but we are working very hard on trying to make it better. We are got him The Kissing Hand book and we've been reading it everyday. We are going to let him take a lovey to school with him to keep in his cubbie and I will make him a little photo album for his backpack. If anyone has other suggestions, please feel free to leave a comment or email me! Any help would be great!

Ok, here's a card I made a few weeks ago at my friend Gina's house. I decided to make a little thank you card using a Paper Smooches stamp and some Echo Park Country Drive Paper. I used three different colors of Divine Twine to embellish it.

Have a great day everyone!

Vintage Thank You

Hi friends! I hope you are well! I'm having a REALLY hard day. Today was one of the worst drop offs so far. Brady actually had to be taken into the teacher's office because of how upset he was. He was crying and yelling "I want my Mommy!" as I headed toward the door. It is BREAKING my heart. I have no idea what to do. :(
Ok, here's a card I made for a call that wasn't picked up. I LOVE this card but I'm not sure if this paper is old. It's new to me and I LOVE it! It's Flea Market from Colorbok. I am rather in love with it! I used the papers and die cuts from this line. I added some lace and the sentiment is from Flourishes.

Have a great day everyone!

Hot Stuff

Hi friends! I hope you are having a good day! We had lunch and a play date with friends today which was just a much needed break from our regular routine and we had a great time! Tomorrow, Brady goes back to school. Ack! Let's see how that goes. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
Here's a card I made with some fun Paper Smooches stamps. I don't know what it is about these veggies but I LOVE them!! I used some BRAND NEW Echo Park Happy Days paper that fell into my hot little hands. :D This is a great line for guys! I love the retro fun feel!

Have a great day everyone!

Love My Tapes Altered Frame

Here's a frame I made and posted on the Love My Tapes blog last week.
All you have to do it peel the backing off the fabric sheet and place the frame on the fabric. Then trim off the excess, you can do this with ultra sharp scissors or a craft knife. I choose to ink the edges with some Memento ink to add a bit of age to this project. The butterfly was also cut from a fabric sheet, I just ran it through my Cuttlebug twice and it was able to die cut it then I added the pearls. I added our beautiful Lace Tape and then used our Lily Fabric Tape to make the flowers adding a gem in the center and free hand cut the leaves from our Jane Fabric Tape. In the middle of the frame, I put a stamped image and sentiment from Unity Stamp Co.

I hope you enjoyed this project! Have a great day!

Deanna's Bridal Shower Invites

Hi friends! I hope you are having a fabulous day! I'm having a really rough morning. We had yet another hard drop off at school with Brady today and I'm just bummed out. I was planning on trying to get some work done but I'm SO sad right now. I think I'll be able to get things done after we go pick him up and I get to see that he ended up having a great time at school.

Today, I'm sharing the card I made for my sister in law, Deanna, for her bridal shower invites. She's getting married next month! :) She's super sweet and I was glad to do these for her. I made about 32 of these but I forgot to photograph them all together so you get to see ONE. But you get the idea.
Deanna choose mustard, black and white for her colors and she's using a damask theme. I decided to make the invites match the colors and theme. The background was made with a Hero Arts background stamp and some Distress Ink in Scattered Straw. I used an EK Success punch for the edge and Spellbinders Labels 8 for the sentiment. I added ribbon and a gem to embellish. She wanted this pretty simple and I think I achieved both an elegant yet refined look here.

Have a great day everyone!

Love is Sweet

Hi friends! I hope you are having a great day! Pick up from school went well yesterday. The teacher and aids said that it only took Brady a few minutes to get used to being at school once we left. That's good to hear. If only he would just get excited about being there. I think he will with time.

I made this card a while ago but haven't gotten around to blogging it. My friend Kate said she's feeling a little unloved so I figured I would post a card using some of the EXCLUSIVE stamps from her store, i {heart} papers. Nothing says love like plugging your friend's store right? Joking aside, I LOVE LOVE LOVE i {heart} papers! I shop there ALL the time! She has great prices, super fast shipping, new products, and exclusive stamp lines which I love.

For this card, I used Mint Motif. I love these gorgeous stamps! I paired the Sweet Hearts set with some Bo Bunny paper. This set is fabulous for Valentine's, love, anniversary, kids, and so much more! The gum balls are rhinestones that I colored with Copics. I used some Cherry Divine Twine and a little silver gel pen to finish this up.
Have a great day everyone!

Authentique Uncommon

Hi friends! I hope you are doing well! We had a ROUGH drop off today at school. Brady was crying and telling me how he didn't want to go to school and he wanted to go home with us. It was hard on me. :( Hopefully, it will get better soon.

Ok, today I'm sharing a couple Authentique cards I made a week or so ago at my friend Gina's house. It's always fun to craft with friends! I love these cards and I hope you enjoy them too!

This first one is made with a Hero Arts flower stamp and a Lawn Fawn sentiment.

This next one was done with tons of cutting and a PTI sentiment.
Have a great day friends!

I didn't get to go this year BUT it was the first time that some of my projects were shown off and I have some pictures for you! :) Ok, I've been holding on to these pictures for a really long time. I have no idea why. These pictures are from the Love My Tapes booth.

This first picture is from Flickr. I kind of stole it. Umm, I'm sorry person on Flickr but thanks for the photo! :) The blue layout is mine. The card below it with the teddy bear is mine and the card next to that with the doll is also mine. :)
This second picture is from my friend Kelly. She was kind enough to take it for me. :) Thanks Kelly!

Happy Birthday, SAV!!!

Hi friends! I hope you guys had a great week! We are wrapping up Brady's first week of school and it's going pretty well. I still need to post pictures. I know. I will. Someday.

Today is the birthday of one of my very very favorite people! Savannah O'Gwynn!!!!!! I should have organized a blog hop but I've been so icky lately. Sorry Sav. You'll just have to accept this card instead. Umm, and in grand tradition, I put a carrot on the card because I CARROT ABOUT YOU! :D I just had to make a cute little card for my cute little Sav! And I used Paper Smooches because we love that! The paper is Echo Park Playground, I used Orange Divine Twine, and some Stickles.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAVANNAH!!!!! HUGS!!!

Whisker Graphics August Project

Hi friends! Hope you all had a great day! We had a fun day. My friend came over and brought her daughter and the kids played. It was nice and the weather was so lovely.

So, each month I will be making a project featuring awesome Whisker Graphic products. This month, I decided to make a headband which is pretty far out of my box. I'm actually pretty proud of how this turned out because my visions don't always come to fruition.

This is actually pretty simple to make. You take Stiffy (which is a fabric stiffener) and you brush it on the Divine Twine. While it's still wet, you can shape it however you want and then let it dry. It's pretty amazing! I decided to use two of my favorite colors of Divine Twine, Lemon and Oyster to make a flower to make this pretty epoxy I made with an Epiphany tool and some Authentique paper. Sigh, SOOOO pretty!

Hope you have a great night!

Happy Birthday Jenny!

Today is my friend Jenny Suchins's birthday! YAY Jenny! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Her darling friend Anita asked me to be a part of a Surprise Birthday Blog Hop for her. You should have come here from Vera's Blog. If not, you can start the hop off at Anita's blog!

Here's the birthday card I made for Jenny. When I think of Jenny, I often think of Hero Arts and I think cutesy so that's the direction I went with this card. I used some Hero Arts/Basic Grey stamps from Life of the Party with the corresponding paper. I added some Orange Divine Twine and that's done.

Next up is Lindsay's Blog!

Check out the hop! The people participating are AWESOME! And leave Jenny some birthday LOVE!
